Hey look, a Mega Man fact thread?! That's right, this thread is entirely based on the facts we know of Mega Man that might sound a little kooky or a bit out-there, but they tend to make it so that the Mega Man Series has it's fair share of interesting facts! So, let's try to get out there and spread… Read More

Not exactly a fact, but it is believed that Napalm Man's stage in Mega Man 5 is based of Vietnam. Here's some evidence:

-The jungle-like setting.
-The robot tiger enemies. Indochinese Tigers are native to Vietnam.
-The underground tunnel (the one with the drilling robots). During the Vietnam War, South Vietnamese guerillas used a vast network of underground tunnels to sneak around unnoticed.
-The spike pits in his stage resemble punji traps, concealed pits of wooden stakes employed by the South Vietnamese.
-Napalm Man himself. Napalm was a flammable liquid used by the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; its use was banned by the United Nations in 1980.

In fact, rumor as it that Mega Man 5 was banned in Vietnam, as Vietnamese would find Napalm Man and his stage offensive.

Not really a fact, but this is a cool little thing so...
A character named Luste Teuber from the Japanese dōjin series, Rosenkreuzstilette bares a resemblance to Proto Man in the sequel Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~. However, on April Fool's for the site of the game, there is a picture of Luste Teuber wearing Proto Man's scarf and his shades/visor.

(these names get pretty hard to spell...)
If that wasn't enough, there is a character named Proto Boy from the show "Robot Boy" who hates his creator for abandoning him, similar to Proto Man.

Did you know that the Mecha Dragon appears in "I wanna be the guy"? He fights like the Yellow Devil. Also, the Mecha Dragon lays eggs in Power Fighters, meaning it might be a female, if it even has a gender......

Did you know that Proto Man EXE was going to have a scarf? Keiji decided not to have clothes in EXEs, but Bass EXE broke this rule.

Actually glad how that turned out. Bass.EXE looks more BA with it than Protoman.EXE would imo.

◾According to Keiji Inafune, the reason Roll passed out first in Super Adventure Rockman is because she was outside watching Beat and Rush, getting exposed to the radiation of the energy, before walking inside to check on Megaman and Dr. Light.

In Mega Man 9, if you beat the game after equipping Roll with her Mega Man 8 outfit, she will be wearing it in her scene with Jewel Man in the ending credits.

Also, Dr. Light's laboratory in the opening sequence was originally going to be one of his buildings from Rockboard.

Since I did Bright Man, I have a "Bright" fact. (remember the pun thread?)

Bright Man's original name was Pearl Man, named after a brand of light bulbs in Japan.

Since I did Ring Man for bios, here's a piece of trivia.Ring Man appears as No. 28 (DWN-028) in the credits of Mega Man 4. This is Pharaoh Man's number, who appears with Toad Man's number, who appears with Ring Man's number.

If you like it, put a ring on it?

How about I make up for my days and give you Mega Man 4?

◾The opening scene of the game shows Mega Man with blue hair, while the ending scene shows him with black hair. However, this might be due to color limitations with the sprites.
◾The Wily Machine in this game is the first of many to have the skull motif, a trend that is followed by all succeeding games' Wily Machines. This is also the first Mega Man game with the Wily Capsule as the final boss, which is used by Wily for the rest of the classic series.
◾This is the first game to feature a unique music track for the game's last boss.
◾Of all the classic Mega Man games, Mega Man 4 takes the longest time to fill the health meters for Mega Man and his enemies.
◾This is the first time Mega Man can charge his buster due to the addition of the New Mega Buster.
◾This is the first game where Dr. Wily tried disguising his intentions by making it seem as if someone else is behind everything.
◾This is the only game in the series to feature two water-themed Robot Masters: Dive Man and Toad Man.
◾Interestingly, when Dr. Wily appears after Mega Man destroys Dr. Cossack's machine, he teleports into the room, much like Mega Man and Proto Man, using Proto Man's teleporting sprite.
◾If the player looks closely when Mega Man is getting a weapon, at some part of the sequence, Mega Man's eyes turn orange instead of staying blue.
◾The eight winners of the character contest from this game received a golden copy of Rockman 4.[1]
◾It is possible for Mega Man to "kill" Dr. Wily after Wily escapes from his Wily Machine No. 4 in his escape pod by using the Rain Flush as seen in the video above. However, doing this will result in Mega Man getting stuck in Wily's chamber and the player having to reset the game.
◾Four of the Robot Masters share the same intro pose. These four are Toad Man, Bright Man, Ring Man, and Skull Man.
◾The theme that plays during the credits is a remake of part of the Mega Man 2 opening.
◾This is the first Mega Man game to have an introduction story with cut scenes.
◾This is the first Mega Man game with two boss castles, Dr. Cossack's and Dr. Wily's.
◾This is the first Mega Man game since the original where players can revisit Robot Master's levels.
◾This is the first Mega Man game to feature "hidden" paths that can be taken to acquire special abilities.
◾This is one of the four Mega Man games to have a fake final boss, the others being Mega Man 5, Mega Man 6, and Mega Man & Bass.
◾A possible reason why this game's setting took place in Russia, and introduced a Russian antagonist was because the year this game was released was the same year as the fall of the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall. This probably green-lighted the idea of using Russian characters this time around.
◾Proto Man's whistle is missing when he appears after rescuing Kalinka.
◾There were a total of 70,000 boss character submissions for this game.

I'm a nice guy.....and uninspired too!
