So, Boss already posted this in the Friday Night Chatroom Topic, but, it's getting buried under more posts, so, I decided to post a topic about it.

So, those of you who frequent the Xat chat may know about a reoccurring debate that MegaBossMan and myself have had lately. The debate in question regards some of the alternate recolors he's been doing for the upcoming end-of-year Prototype update [and likely, beyond that as well].

See, Boss wants to use the Game Boy style-recolors for the RM's, a la the World series on the Game Boy [Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, Mega Man II, Mega Man III, Mega Man IV and Mega Man V], for the nostalgia and the time-honored-ness. Basically a 4-color pallette. Although it sounds simple, anyone who's played the GB series will most likely get a kick out of this.

I, on the other hand, have been suggesting that he just use completely grayscale versions of the original NES 8-bit sprites, as there's much more color depth to them, and they look more defined and menacing to boot. After all, the rest of the prototype isn't in a 4-color pallette; why do any of the recolors have to be?

Here's a comparison of the two. Grayscale Guts Man is on the left, GB Guts Man is on the right. Both the sprites and the image were made by Boss:

Grayscale recolor on the left, GB recolor on the right. Image and sprites by MegaBossMan.

Boss wanted to settle this in 10/17/14's Legacy Chat meeting with a poll, but, Adrian showed up, and complete chaos ensued. Boss then posted it under the Friday Night Chatroom topic, but, it's getting buried in other posts, so, I've taken the liberty of reposting it here:

Vote honestly, pleaseandthankyou. Don't vote for grayscale simply because you hate the original GB colors, and don't vote for GB simply because of nostalgia. Vote for the one that you genuinely think looks better for the Prototype, in your honest opinion.

The winner [which will be decided on Halloween night] will likely make it into the end-of-year update.

Don't forget to post your opinions here, as well, if you wish. It'd be greatly appreciated as well.

Thank you.

- That guy--I mean, GHOST--named Mikey.

This poll is closed. Thank you for participating.

Well, see, now it depends on which comparison you're talking about. For example, I like Grayscale Gutsman and Quickman, but I also like GB Bubbleman and Iceman. I'M SO TORN!!!!!

EDIT: How about this: since I voted for Grayscale before your BubbleQuickIce post, make another comparison as a tie breaker and I'll vote again. Just be sure to remember to take one vote away from Grayscale. Does that sound good? MBM this is your chance to make a comparison where Grayscale looks poopy! :)

I really like both the Grey/Gray Scale and the Game Boy sprites, but I think I lean towards Gray/Grey Scale a little more.

Snake Man VS

And because I'm a nice guy, I will take suggestions on who to compare next. You can only suggest from 1-4, and nothing already been shown.
