Fix One Bug, Create Another... >_<

It seems I accidentally created a new bug yesterday when I was trying to fix an existing one (the browser crashing one). The new bug really messed with the sound and mute functionality as well as several other areas of the game. I've implemented a fix that seems to be working, and hopefully it sticks. Sorry about that!
