Hey pals, it's me, Spinstrike! Yep, I'm back, and just in time for the new update! So, here are my thoughts:

Chapter 1: The first chapter definitely has the most changes, at least on a superficial level. Sniper Joe was a neat addition, but I think Trill could be toned down a bit to provide a better transition to the Robot Master battles.

Chapter 2: Same as before, at least at first. The Sigma battles were a bit of a surprise, but they were a great challenge for postgame play.

Chapter 3: Like Meta said, the increasing difficulty for the rival battles is great for grinding. A little tougher than I remember.

Chapter 4: See Chapter 2.

Chapter 5: Enker and the Copy Bots are a bit tougher than I remember. They are the game's "final bosses" at the moment, so that makes sense.

Bonus Chapter: The addition of Mets, Sniper Joes, and the Copy Core robots was a nice touch, and I can assume the support trio are there as well. The difficulty hasn't changed that much, though.

By the way, does anyone now how to access Robot skins? They're not in the shop, and I haven't been able to unlock them via grinding.

[Wise fwom youw gwave!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOQcnliEjXM)

Anyone remember this thread? Just me? Aw, well. There isn't a chat tonight, so I may as well take the time to post a few headcannons I've had lying around for a while.

o Metal Man is a skilled mechanic, and Wily often tasks him with repairing the other Robot Masters after Rock roughs them up. He isn't very gentle, though, and his bedside manner is lacking...
o Heat Man and Crash Man are best buddies. They hang out a lot on and off duty, and Heat is usually the one to calm Crash down whenever he gets riled up.
o After the events of Mega Man 4, Dr. Cossack employs Skull Man as a sort of lab assistant/butler/bodyguard. Oh, and as a babysitter and playmate for Kalinka.
o Proto Man is more musical than he lets on. Besides his trademark whistle, he's composed quite a few tunes while wandering the Earth. Whenever he visits Cossack Citadel, he and the similarly-minded Toad Man get together for a jam session or two.
o Fire Man enjoys watching reruns of Gunsmoke and old John Wayne westerns.
o Plug Man's favorite anime is Cowboy Bebop, followed closely by Space Dandy.
o Top Man is a total nerd for 70's-80's pop music, and has a ton of old-school tape decks in his quarters in Wily Castle. Magnet Man regularly scrambles them with stray electromagnetic pulses, much to Top's dismay.
o Rock is a rabid FIFA fan, especially when World Cup season rolls around(he always roots for Japan, of course). Mega Man's Soccer is the result of Bomb Man spiking one of Rock's E-Tanks during a particularly wild victory party.
o Guts Man isn't as thick-headed as his brothers think. He actually has incredible knowledge in civil engineering and classical architecture.

I know it's past Halloween, but I just can't get [Ghosts by Mystery Skulls](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlEb3L1PIco) out of my head! It's probably one of the catchiest techno-pop tunes I've heard in a long while. Fair warning, though: I'd rate this song T for a single F-bomb (though it's a bit hard to make out unless you're looking for it), implied dismemberment, and some major feels near the end. Oh, and spectral fire pompadours.

(OOC: Welcome back, Chaos!)

"Beg pardon sir, but-ack!" Print Man blurted as Knight's blow forcibly dismounted him from the Iron Horse. However, his left foot remained stuck in the stirrup, leaving the author-bot to be dragged about the chamber. Barley maintaining his grasp on his Vorpal Pen , Print Man let loose a stream of ink from the tip of the blade, tripping the pursing Knight and leaving him covered in the slimy black liquid. "Would someone-oof!-mind igniting-arugh!-that puddle?" Print Man stuttered amidst the flurry of kicks from the unruly Iron Horse.

Hurray for posting on your own threads! Anyhow, here are my ideas...

-Pharaoh Man: A Ruby-Spears cartoon themed palate. Sweet cape and uppercuts not included.
-Ice Man: A dark blue palate. Another, albeit subtle, Ruby-Spears reference.
-Hard Man: A red, white, and blue palate. A nice Rocky 4 reference, in response to this.
-(Solid) Snake Man: A palate based off any of Metal Gear's Snakes (maybe one of Naked Snake's camo patterns from Snake Eater?) Why? Because puns, that's why.
-Heat Man: A silver palate, similar to a Zippo lighter. Might snag us a lawsuit, but we should be fine as long as we don't drop any names.

Seizing the opportunity Gamble Man had so generously provided, Print Man ripped a strip of cloth from a half-burnt banner. Taking a end in each hand, he wrapped it around a nearby column and pulled himself up with it, gaining an excellent vantage point over the battle. "Steady...steady..." Print Man muttered to himself as he heard the cloth begin to tear.

He didn't have to hold on for long. Soon enough, Insanity Man barreled toward the pillar he was desperately clutching to, prompting Knight's steed to knock him away yet again. Just before it could return to the engagement, Print Man leapt from his perch and landed atop the distracted mount. He scrambled for the reins as the iron horse attempted to buck him off its back.

Ducking behind a pillar to evade Knight's charge, Print Man took a moment to strategize. A knight on horseback...just as I theorized!" He thought to himself. "If King's challenges are chess-themed, and we've already seen a Pawn and a Knight, next will be a Rook, a Bishop, a Queen, and finally...a King. The King, no doubt."

"But back to the situation at hand. If my studies of medieval literature have taught me anything, it's that plate armor was bulky and difficult to maneuver in on foot. If a strong enough blow can forcibly dismount that fiend, he'll be a sitting duck while we bombard him from afar!"

Print Man's musings were interrupted as Knight battered through the pillar he was taking cover behind. Scrambling back to his allies, Print Man unsheathed his Vorpal Pen and prepared for battle.

The torrent of water flung Print Man across the courtyard, dropping him onto a hedge row. Seething in fury, he armed his Pencil Buster and targeted the Pawn in the fountain. But after pausing for a moment, he instead shot at the base of the statue of King atop the fountain, casing it to fall onto the hapless Pawn bellow.

Before Print Man could rejoin the rest of the party, the two Pawns he had knocked away leap up and grasped him by the coat and punning him down. Landing on his bottom, he retaliated by swiftly kicking both Pawns; one landed in a hedge row a few meters away, while the other was knocked into the fountain halfway across the courtyard. The former got right back up and rushed towards him, only to be met with a hail of shots from his Pencil Buster.

"Who's the comic relief now, eh?"

"'Comic relief'? Why, I never!" Print Man exclaimed as he suddenly got to his feet. Drawing his Vorpal Pen, he knocked away both Pawns with a well-placed slice.

Spitting the dirt from his mouth, he took a moment to examine his surroundings. The beautiful courtyard had been thrown into disarray, with several shrubs uprooted and a few on fire. An elegant fountain stood in the middle of the chaos, topped by a shield-bearing statue of King. Normally, Print Man would have taken a moment to awe at its beauty.

But now was not the time. "We'll see who's the real comic relief!" cried Print Man as he rushed into battle.

Panting heavily, Print Man stumbled toward the rest of the party. Not the most athletic of robots, he’d been lagging behind for most of the journey. It was just his luck that King had installed an anti-teleportation field around his tower, probably to keep out any unwanted visitors. He hadn't heard much of the gatekeeper robot’s speech, but he’d heard enough to know the robots he’d been traveling with in stony silence for the last few hours were now his only allies.

Print Man looked about at the three other robots in front of him. The first was the tallest of the bunch, casting a massive shadow over his smaller compatriots. A purple, armadillo-like shell almost half his size hung from his back, and a devilish smirk crossed his face. The second was much stouter, with a bright orange hull decorated with red and black markings, much like those of playing card suits. His expression was blank, but it was clear he was carefully observing everyone around him. The last was what appeared to be a mechanical iteration of a high fantasy wizard, complete with a robe, pointed cap, and staff. He sat in a meditative stance, legs crossed and eyes closed.

After a full minute of silence, Print Man dusted off his coat, adjusted his beret, cleared his throat, and began to speak.

“Afternoon, gentlemen. Seems like we’re together in all this, so like that gatekeeper fellow said, we may as well get acquainted.”

Silence.

“…guess I’ll go first, then. The name’s Print Man; I’m an author. I trust some of you are familiar with my work? Not that it matters now, what with the situation at hand.”

More silence. This time accompanied by razor-sharp glares.

“Erm…anyone else care to introduce themselves?”

Here’s my entry. I might tweak it a bit, though. And here's a song for your listening pleasure; I think it suits the character quite well.

“A gauntlet, eh? This is exactly what I need for my next book! I’ll make those fools tremble before the power of literature!”

Entry Fourm
Name: Print Man
Designation: MPN. (Monsteropolis Publishers Number) 012

Background:
Print Man was one of many robots charged with the operation and patience of printing presses of a major publishing company. Soon after his activation, he grew tired of printing the writings of others and wished to express his own creativity. Eventually, he quit his job and decided to write his own book. Print Man spent several years in isolation, all spent on creating his “masterpiece”. Entitled Oil and Ink, it was a “true-life drama” about a robot who quits his job at a print-shop and writes a best-selling novel.

The latter cannot be said of Print Man: Oil and Ink sold an astounding seven copies and made its author less than a hundred zenny. He immediately became the laughingstock of both Monsteropolis his former company. Publicly humiliated and out of a job, Print Man sunk into a deep depression. He frequented oil bars, drowning his sorrows in E-Tanks while sharing his woes with anyone who would listen. He still wrote, becoming a freelance writer for some of Monsteropolis’ independent literary journals.

Upon hearing of King’s Gambit, Print Man had a glimmer of hope. If he could defeat the tin-plated tyrant’s challenge, he would have the story of a lifetime! A thrilling tale of swashbuckling adventure would be a perfect page-turner! Print Man immediately set out for King’s Tower, his mind adrift in thoughts of riches and fame…

Weapons/Abilities:
Having little to know combat experience before hearing word of King’s challenge, Print Man raced to assemble a makeshift arsenal. Remembering the old adage of “The pen is mightier than the sword”, he combined the two instruments into one lethal device. Dubbed the “Vorpal Pen”, this weapon can disorient Print Man’s opponents with industrial-grade printing ink, leaving them wide open for a lethal slash. For ranged combat, Print Man relies on the “Pencil Buster”, a pencil-styled gattling gun that fires finely-sharpened tungsten points (resembling the graphite tips of pencils).

Personality:
Print Man is extremely talkative, capable of waxing on about a single subject (usually his own work) for hours. His long seclusion has made him rather awkward in public; while his writing may be eloquent, he is not. He has also known to dabble in theater, having acted in several local productions of R. U. R. prior to his entry into the Gauntlet. He reveres the authors, poets, and playwrights of days gone by like gods among men, quoting them whenever he sees fit. Print Man enjoys spending his afternoons libraries and bookstores, but despises “lesser publications” such as romance novels and tabloids.

Appearance:
Print Man has a humanoid design that calls Crash Man, Flash Man, and Magnet Man to mind, albeit in a dirty white. He conceals himself beneath a trench coat and “artistic” beret. His left hand holds his Vorpal Pen, while his right is an emplacement for his Pencil Buster.

Accepted!

@CHAOS_FANTSY Yeah, because the Mega Man series never had any [gratuitous violence, ridiculous story-lines, or barbaric writing. Except that one time...

In all fairness, though, I respect your opinion. The RP fourm can get a little crazy sometimes, but maybe someday, it can become something beautiful.

I always found Crash Man the easiest boss in Mega Man 2. Sure, Metal Man and Air Man go down quicker with the Mega Buster, but at least they can score a few hits on me. Crash Man? Not so much. He may look intimidating, but once you get his pattern down, he's a cakewalk. Shoot at him to make him jump, jump over his Crash Bomb and get clear of its blast radius, then shoot Crash as comes down. Air Shooter makes him even more pathetic; if you're lucky, you can use it to kill him in one hit! Even then, 2-3 hits is still pathetic.

magnet-man Stone Man? You’re back already?
stone-man Yeah. I kind of blew my vacation cashola on pay-per-view movies, and the hotel kicked me out. But that’s not the point! Dr. Wily has a mission for us!
crash-man A mission? What is it?
stone-man The Doc didn’t give me all the details but from what I can gather, those Mega Man Killer guys went berserk and ran off. Apparently they stole some kinda
super-prototype robot he was working on, and we need to get it back before they use it or whatever
magnet-man I never trusted those weirdoes. Something about ‘em just gives me the shivers.
crash-man How dare they betray Master Wily! Come on, you guys! Let’s scrap those traitors and get that robot back!
magnet-man You and Stone go on ahead. I’m gonna see if I can’t find any more Wily Numbers. We’ll need all the help we can get to take down the Killers.
stone-man Good idea! We’ll meet up at the construction site; that’s where they’re holed up.
crash-man Quit messin’ around! Let’s go! *teleports out*

punk Ha! More tin cans to crush!
enker This is serious, you nitwit! Looks like that Pyre Fly flew off while we were talking. It's probably reporting to Cossack right now.
Just help me set up the transmission, and then we'll rendezvous with the others.

Looked pretty suspicious. I'm pretty sure that Purple Quickman guy was with with them, too. Dunno where they were goin'.

In the year 200X...er, 20XX...

Even as Mega Man and his mechanical compatriots struggle to escape the Prototype and defeat the mysterious Slur, life goes on. Between battles, the Robot Masters and Mistresses can always find an unused field lying about to shoot the breeze and have a few E-Tanks.

After being snubbed for the enigmatic MegaBossMan's first annual "Best Original Robot Master" award, Bomb Man sought to drown his sorrows the only way he knew how: high-powered explosives. Bomb Man and his Explode-type pals got together to chuck a few bombs around and vent their frustrations. However, Bass, under the guise of Proto Man, corrupted the group's intentions and tricked them into nearly obliterating the Prototype in order to lure Mega Man into yet another "final confrontation".

Mega Man caught wind of the "Bomb Gang"'s scheme while attempting to join their group. With the aid of the first generation robot masters (sans Bomb Man), Top Man, the newcomer Sargent Man, and even the mysterious Btman, the Blue Bomber blew Bass' plans to smithereens and saved the day yet again. All that's left to do is deal with the "Bomb Gang" themselves...

(OOC: Nothing special here, just a bit of intro narration to catch everyone up to speed. Try to imagine someone reading this like an old-timey newsreel. Or the narrator from Bastion. Or Morgan Freeman.)

Just so you guys know, I won't be able to attend tonight's chat, as I'm going to see Guardians of the Galaxy with some friends. However, I'd like to post my ideas for Needle Man's T1 and Top Man's T2.

I originally hoped that Needle Cannon would become Needle Man’s pure-Cutter T1, allowing for a more creative T2. After failing to persuade Adrian to change Oil Slider into a Earth/Swift-type ability, I don’t think that’s likely. Anyhow, Needle Driver would revolve around Needle Man’s battering ram-like head. I’m not exactly sure how it would work, though. Maybe it could reduce defense and make Needle Cannon more effective? Needle Man’s existing sprites would be problematic; maybe we could use a special add-on for the head, like the Hyper Bomb that used to appear next to Bomb Man before he got his new sprites.

For Top Man’s T2, I was inspired by his ability to deflect attacks by spinning. Top Spin (The existing Top Spin could be renamed Top Throw) would generate a spinning vortex around the user, nullifying all damage ala Skull Barrier. Unlike Skull Barrier, the vortex can be kept up by repeatedly using the ability (much like the effects of Bubble Spray and Oil Shooter). Once a different ability is used, the vortex is launched at the opposing player’s front row robot for damage (slightly less than other Shield abilities, at least). I think it would be cool if a speed-based bot like Top Man had a defensive ability to compensate for their minimal defense. Making it a T2 would make sure it couldn't be spammed (it would use up energy on each turn, unlike other Sheild abilities), and Impact and Explode-type abilities could penetrate the vortex, dealing damage and dispersing it.

If anyone would mind bringing up these ideas during the chat, even if it’s just copy-pasting them, that’d be great.

Here's something interesting: the weaknesses of the Doc Robots in Mega Man 3 coincide with the weaknesses of the Robot Masters!

-Doc Metal is weak to Magnet Missile and Hard Knuckle; Magnet Missile is effective against Hard Man.

-Doc Crash is weak to Hard Knuckle and Top Spin; Hard Knuckle is effective against Top Man.

-Doc Heat is weak to [Top Spin]{swift } and Shadow Blade; Top Spin is effective against Shadow Man.

-Doc Bubble is weak to Shadow Blade and Spark Shock; Shadow Blade is effective against Spark Man.

-Doc Air is weak to Spark Shock and Magnet Missile; Spark Shock is effective against Magnet Man.

-Doc Wood is weak to [Needle Cannon]{cutter_missile } and Search Snake; Needle Cannon is effective against Snake Man.

-Doc Quick is weak to Search Snake and Gemini Laser; Search Snake is effective against Gemini Man.

-Doc Flash is weak to Gemini Laser and Needle Cannon; Gemini Laser is effective against Needle Man.

I noticed Trill doesn't have any quotes yet. As a counterpoint to his appearance in Rockman EXE Beast, I wrote him as an obnoxious, arrogant little brat. Think those shrieking little kids you see in most FPS multiplayer games (COD, Battlefield, Etc.), but as evil space robots.

Start: "If you wanna get to Miss Slur, you're gonna have to go through me first!"
Taunt: "Just 'cause I'm a kid doesn't mean you're stronger than me!"
Victory: "Go ahead and cry, you big baby!"
Defeat: "B-but there's no way you could have won! *sob* You must have cheated!"

Posted on July 1st, 2014 at 7:50pm in "Mega Man Headcannons and Fan Theories" #100 ( Edited : 2014/07/01 at 7:51pm )
Now we move ahead to Mega Man 8. But first, we need to go back a bit. Now, we assume that the battle between Duo and the Evil Energy Robot (who I shall refer to as EER) occurs right before the events of the actual game. However, space is far more massive than science fiction portrays it (TV Tropes has a nice article on this), and by current estimates, it would take 3 years to travel from Saturn, where the battle seems to take place, to Earth. What’s not to say that a few parts of the EER (more specifically, those big ol’ jewels on his head and chest) broke off as it hurtled towards Earth, particularly during the rough trip though the asteroid belt? And what’s not to say those parts reached Earth first?

That’s right! The energy elements from Mega Man 3 are actually fractured parts of the Evil Energy Robot from the opening of Mega Man 8!

Just as luck would have it, Duo and the EER land on a desert island those houses one of Wily’s outposts. The mad doctor whisks away the EER’s power core for further study, and sure enough, it’s the source of the energy elements. Wily uses the EER’s corrupting virus, which is actually the “Evil Energy” that Duo seeks to eradicate, to power up Bass his new line of Robot Masters. Fortunately, Mega Man is able to defeat Wily with the help of a rebuilt Duo. This time, Wily is gene-savvy enough to hide a few Evil Energy samples before the destruction of Wily Tower. He continues his experimentation with the extraterrestrial substance while beginning work on his own magnum opus: Zero. Robots don’t come cheap, though, and Wily is strapped for cash post-Mega Man 8. By reprograming Dr. Light’s expired Robot Masters and pinning the blame on him, he manages to extort funds from the naive public with the promise of combat robots to put down Light’s supposed rebellion.

Previously, Evil Energy could on spread to robots that were in direct contact with its original source: the EER. Wily’s experimentation allowed infected robots to spread it, creating the Roboenza Virus. Wily pretends to help Light manufacture a cure in order to infect Mega Man, but his scheme fails thanks to Roll sacrificing herself to save her brother. Even so, Wily realizes that Roboenza is far too easy to cure, and decides to start from scratch. To give himself a blank slate to work with, he gives Light enough of the cure to eradicate Roboenza.

With his health rapidly declining, Wily quickly finishes Zero and uploads a new version of Evil Energy into his system. Christened the “Zero Virus”, this form of Evil Energy not only causes robots to lash out at whatever they see, but also alters their mind to conform with Wily’s twisted dream of a human-free world. Wily seals Zero away, dying soon afterward.

Zero awakens a century later. The Zero Viruis is far more effective than Wily could have imagined; rather than being a simple carrier (ala Typhoid Mary) , Zero becomes a savage berserker, killing any Reploid that crosses paths with him. What few Reploids survive Zero’s rampage are repaired, now unwilling carriers of the Zero Virus. Instantaneous teleportation allows the Zero Virus to become an epidemic in mere days. Since Wily did not account for advances in robot technology, the virus lies dormant in highly-advanced Reploids, only causing primitive Mechanaloids to become what the media dubs “Mavericks”. Disturbed by this course of events, Dr. Cain creates the Maverick Hunters to protect innocent humans and Reploids. Cain appoints Sigma, one of his most advanced Reploids, as the unit’s commander. Sigma manages to track down Zero, and the two get into a scuffle. Sigma shatters the gem on Zero’s forehead, which simultaneously frees Zero from the Zero Virus and infects Sigma with it. Unlike the Mechanaloids, Sigma is smart enough to infect other Reploids and begin an organized rebellion against humanity. I trust you all know how the story goes from here.

In summary, Mega Man 3 is the first sighting of the Maverick Virus that literally plagues the rest of the timeline up until Mega Man Zero. Funny how something that started with a peacekeeping robot named after a Greek letter ended with a peacekeeping robot named after a Greek letter.

Alrighty, here’s my theory. It’s long and complicated, but I’m fairly proud of it overall. So I was playing Mega Man 3 the other day, when I realized something. Why exactly are the Robot Masters revolting? It’s implied that Wily reprogramed them, but why would he want to delay Gamma’s construction if he was planning to steal it? Was Wily even involved in the first place, or did he just capitalize on the chaos the Robot Masters were causing? Maybe the energy elements the Robot Masters were collecting be responsible?

To understand this, we need to start at the beginning: more specifically, Mega Man 3. After his second defeat at the hands of Mega Man, Dr. Wily abandons his evil ways and begins working with Dr. Light on the peace-keeping robot Gamma. Being a 50-story titan brimming with weapons, Gamma’s power requirements exceed any practical method of generating electricity (fossil fuels, solar, nuclear, etc.). While the doctors try to find a solution, geologists investigating a meteor impact in some distant corner of the world discover strange crystalline formations. These crystals are found to output massive amounts of power, and are dubbed “energy elements”. Believing that more energy elements are located on the earth, Light and Wily construct a third set of Robot Masters to find said energy elements and establish facilities to mine and refine them.

At first, all goes well. In addition to the first site, the Third Numbers locate 7 more energy elements in various locations, and initial excavation goes off without a hitch. However, the energy elements slowly begin to corrupt the Robot Masters’ AI, eventually causing them and their mechanical underlings to go berserk and attack humans. Shadow Man, being of alien origin, is exempt from this, but Wily orders him to go along with his comrades in order to A) hide his true nature, which could arouse suspicion in Light and Mega Man, and B) gather intel on why the Robot Masters have gone rouge. Proto/Break Man is dispatched as well, but he forgoes the mission to get revenge on Mega Man for “replacing” him as Dr. Light’s son.

Of course, that wily Wily is secretly planning to steal Gamma for his own nefarious ends. While Light and Mega Man are distracted with the robot rebellion, Wily begins to reprogram Gamma. But the Blue Bomber defeats the 8 Robot Masters quicker than Wily expected, forcing him to deploy his experimental “Doc Robot” line (which had been safely hidden away in his third Skull Castle prior to his second defeat) to stall our hero further. While Mega Man has his (not very) climatic showdown with Break Man, Wily overpowers Light and makes off with the incomplete Gamma. The energy element’s virus seems to affect Gamma as well, leaving Wily unable to complete colossal peacekeeper before Mega Man destroys it, along with the energy elements themselves. Wily, having faked his death with a robotic duplicate (Wily had a body double piloting his Wily Machine, so why wouldn’t he have one controlling Gamma), escapes his ruined fortress and reviews the data Shadow Man collected on the energy element’s negative effects.

Flash forward to Mega Man 7. While analyzing the data files Bass stole from Light Labs along with the Super Adaptor plans, Wily discovers that Light is building a next-generation robot: Mega Man X. An infuriated Wily decides to build his own next generation robot (with blackjack and hookers!). However, Wily reasons that since he is using Light’s blueprints, his will (as usual) be inferior to Light’s. That’s when it hit him: what if his robot could infect others with the virus spread by the energy elements? Light’s robot would not just be squaring off against Wily’s, he’d potentially be facing a millions-strong army of renegade robots! One small problem: the only known energy elements were destroyed along with Gamma. Wily desperately scours the globe for more energy elements, building dozens of small outposts in remote corners of the world. (Cont.)

Start: "Hey, who said you could come here? Go away!"

Maybe each player's intro field could have a different mecha? It's kind of boring having to fight Mets three times in a row.

Dr. Light-Met
Dr. Wily-Sniper Joe
Dr. Cossack-Bladder

Each mecha's highest stat would be the one each doctor specializes in (Met has high defense, etc.).

EDIT: Actually, each doctor's intro stage should be (aesthetically) different as well.

Dr. Light-Default
Dr. Wily-Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 2, with the Mega Man 2 Wily Fortress in the background.
Dr. Cossack-Cossack Stage 1 from Mega Man 4, with Cossack Citadel in the background.

The sprites for Wily and Cossack's backgrounds would be the fortress stage maps from Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 4, respectively.

I feel that since our version of Color Man is Crystal type, he should be more prism-themed than clown/artist themed. I mean, Solar Man was originally going to be light-themed instead of fire-themed. Maybe his attacks could involve different forms of light?

gyro-man Mobile Airbase
crystal-man Crystal Catacombs (Already in-game, but I put it here for consistency's sake.)
napalm-man Arms Storehouse

Many fans theorize that RT-55J from Mega Man X is actually Auto, modified by Dr. Light to guard the Light Capsules. However, Auto actually makes a cameo appearance in Volt Catfish's boss intro in the Playstaton, Sega Saturn, PC, and Anniversary Collection editions of [Mega Man X3](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZoqPanZ1K8).

Does this mean Auto survived an entire century when the other Classic Series robots didn't? Maybe he's tougher than he looks...

A bit of a silly concept, but entertaining none the less. Here’s my take:

Spinstrike
“The pen is mightier than the sword!”

Bio: Spinstrike was created by a student of Dr. Light’s “Light University” project, an attempt to create a college campus for humans and robots alike. Programed with knowledge of classic literature, Spinstrike helped his creator cheat on homework and tests. Disgusted by what he saw as a misuse of his potential, Spinstrike joined Dr. Wily during his ill-fated attempt to infiltrate Light University. Following that escapade, Dr. Wily assigned Spinstrike to spread misinformation about his schemes online, hoping to mislead Mega Man and Dr. Light.

Good Trait: Knowledgeable
Bad Trait: Socially Awkward
Likes: Books
Dislikes: Censorship

@Reisrat Well, the boss of the first Dr. Wily stage is a turtle-shooting HAL 9000.

As for stage enemies, I have a few theories. *Pickpockets the Speculation Device from MegaBossMan*

Needle Man-Hari Hari
Magnet Man-Mag Fly
Gemini Man-Nitron
Hard Man-Monking
Top Man-Komasaburo
Snake Man-Snakey
Spark Man-Elec'n
Shadow Man-Mechakero

*Slips the speculation device back into MegaBossMan's pocket*

@Reisrat Cowabunga, dude!

Sorry I haven't been as involved in the community as of late. I've been studying for finals...and playing the new version of MM8BDM.

As for Magnet Man, I think he should remain a Missile core. While an Earth core kind of makes sense, giving Mags one would leave us with only three Missile core robots. Missile is already a fairly niche type, and taking away one of its robots would just make things worse. Besides, Earth has enough robots already.

You know what I find funny? "Ballad of Luigi" is supposed to be about Luigi, but Mario winds up taking over the song and singing most of the lyrics. So Mario is stealing Luigi's thunder...just like he does the rest of the time...

But what really confuses me is that for most of the song, Mario is clearly trying to win Peach over, but for a few lyrics he sings about how fed up with her he is, only to go back to singing about his...that...

In Mega Man 9, if you beat the game after equipping Roll with her Mega Man 8 outfit, she will be wearing it in her scene with Jewel Man in the ending credits.

Also, Dr. Light's laboratory in the opening sequence was originally going to be one of his buildings from Rockboard.

-The mercenaries from Team Fortress 2
-The members of FOXHOUND from the original Metal Gear Solid
-The cast of Skullgirls (Probably just the original 8, maybe a few more)
-The Mighty Numbers from Mighty No. 9 (My personal pick)

Not exactly a fact, but it is believed that Napalm Man's stage in Mega Man 5 is based of Vietnam. Here's some evidence:

-The jungle-like setting.
-The robot tiger enemies. Indochinese Tigers are native to Vietnam.
-The underground tunnel (the one with the drilling robots). During the Vietnam War, South Vietnamese guerillas used a vast network of underground tunnels to sneak around unnoticed.
-The spike pits in his stage resemble punji traps, concealed pits of wooden stakes employed by the South Vietnamese.
-Napalm Man himself. Napalm was a flammable liquid used by the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; its use was banned by the United Nations in 1980.

In fact, rumor as it that Mega Man 5 was banned in Vietnam, as Vietnamese would find Napalm Man and his stage offensive.

Hey, this seems pretty interesting! Mind if I drop in?

Top Man: Okay, I think I've found a way to make a slightly more game-accurate version of Top Spin). According to Adrian's initial post regarding the MM3 weapons, Top Spin had to be changed from its game counterpart because it would require a new sprite for every robot, which would be too time-consuming. For my version of Top Spin, the user would balance on a giant top (Similar to the spinning top platforms right before Top Man's boss door) and "charge" it for a turn (Like Super Arm or a Shield ability) before jumping off and sending it at a front-row target for massive damage. However, it could be stopped early with an Impact-type ability. The existing Top Spin would remain in the game under a different name (something like Top Throw).

Spark Man: If I recall, Spark Man has a move where he charges a ball of electricity above his head and throws it at you. This move always struck me as an Electric-type version of Pharaoh Shot, and could probably use the same mechanics. As for a name...Spark Charge?

Snake Man: This one isn't really based off anything. The user would summon a Snakey from Snake Man's stage to bite the opponent and deal damage, lowering attack by 10% in the process. Snake Bite seems like a fitting name.

Hard Man: Oh boy, this one's a doozy. It's also based of Hard Man's ground slam attack. The user would leap up into the air for a turn, then crash down to cause a earthquake that would deal damage to all robots on the opponent's side. This attack could be stopped early with a Missile-type move, just to use those upward-turning sprites Magnet Missile and Needle Cannon have. As for a name, I was thinking Hard Quake. Guts Man could be given a similar move.

A complete field MUST contain...

-The field's name. Composed of two words or phrases (three or four if you're pushing it, don't even think about five).
-What game (Mega Man or otherwise) the field comes from.
-The Field's primary core type (determines what type the 10% boost go collecting this field's star is).
-The field's multipliers (Core types, damage, recovery, experience). Primary core type gets an automatic x2 multiplier.
-The Robot (fan-made or otherwise) associated with the field.
-The Mecha (fan-made or otherwise) associated with the field.

Optional:

-A short description of what the field looks like (1-2 sentences is good).
-Music that plays during battle (link to YouTube or another video/music-sharing website).

Robot Master ghosts? Hmn...what to do? Should we call Mega Man? Should we call the Ghostbusters? Should we call both?

"If there's something strange,
In the Prototype,
Who ya gonna call?
MEGA-BUSTERS!"

"If it's glitchn' out,
And it's Laser type,
Who ya gonna call?
[MEGA-BUSTERS]{neutral;}!"

"I ain't afraid of no Bots!
I ain't afraid of no Bots!"

Ah, I understand. When you collect a star from a field, you gain a boost to abilities that share the same core type as the feild. For example, the Rainy Simulator field (Rainy Sewers+Space Simulator) is Water and Space type, so its Fusion Star gives a 10% boost to both Water and Space type moves.

One question: will you be able to collect more than one of each varieyt of star? For example, can I collect 2 Rainy Simulator stars to gain a 20% boost to my Water and Space type abilities?

Not necessarily a full revamp, but could we give Cut Man and Bomb Man a nice orange color in place of that gaudy pinkish-red? And while we're at it, we may as well give Guts Man, Fire Man, Elec Man, Quick Man and Heat Man that nice red Metal Man has now too.

I've noticed that Guts Man, Elec Man, Air Man, Bubble Man, Crash Man, and Flash Man have the same taunt, so I've altered their quotes a little.

Guts Man
Start: "Maximum power!"
Taunt: "A wimp like you doesn't belong here!"
Victory: "You were no match for my power!"
Defeat: "I won't forget this!"

Elec Man
Start: "Feel the power of my Thunder Beam!"
Taunt: "A low-voltage robot like you could never defeat me!"
Victory: "That was...electrifying!"
Defeat: "I lost? How shocking!"

Air Man
Start: "You dare to face me?"
Taunt: "You'll never beat me!"
Victory: "Did I blow you away?"
Defeat: "Surely this cannot be!"

Bubble Man
Start: "The sea will swallow you!"
Taunt: "I'll prove I'm (name of doctor)'s strongest robot!
Victory: "I win! Take that!"
Defeat: "Looks like I'm sunk..."

Crash Man
Start: "I am the destroyer!"
Taunt: "I'll blow you to smithereens!"
Victory: "You never stood a chance!"
Defeat: "Inconceivable!"

Flash Man
Start: "Stop! In the name of Love!"
Taunt: "I just want to freeze this moment forever..."
Victory: "How illuminating!"
Defeat: "My light is fading..."

I also came up with quotes for Pirate Man...

Start: "Avast, me harties! Prepare for battle!"
Taunt: "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me..."
Victory: "Don't try to beg for mercy, scallywag!"
Defeat: "Shiver me timbers!"

...and Knight Man.

Start: "Taste my steel, knave!"
Taunt: "I have defeated a thousand robots in armed combat. Surely this won't be any different..."
Victory: "Victory is mine!"
Defeat: "It seems you are the better warrior..."

Based entirely on their names and original designs, here are some of the robots based of NetNavis from the Battle Network series.

Lark Man: Free Bird Robot

Blossom Woman: Beautiful Nature Robot

Hallow Man: Shadowy Necromancer Robot

Desert Man: Shifting Sands Robot

Shark Man: Undersea Predator Robot

Number Man: Numerical Computation Robot

Laser Man: Light Beams Robot

Shield Man: Defensive Barriers Robot

These aren't final, and they'll probably be changed once I see the final sprites.

Here are Cold Man... (His MMAB profile describes him as being bored with his job.)

Start: "Time for a 'cold'...aw, forget it."
Taunt: "*Yawn* This is more boring than my job..."
Victory: "Now I have something to talk about at work, at least."
Defeat: "Does this mean I can take the rest of the day off?"

...Spring Man...

Start: "I'm all coiled up and ready to spring into action!"
Taunt: "I sure hope there aren't any stairs in this level..."
Victory: "Boing! Boing! Boing!"
Defeat: "Oh, well. That's the way the ball bounces, I suppose."

...Nitro Man... (He's a TV/Movie stunt-robot, so a lot of his quotes are related to filming.)

Start: "Lights! Camera! Action!"
Taunt: "This is gonna be my most epic stunt yet!"
Victory: "That's a wrap!"
Defeat: "Cut, cut, cut! Do NOT print that!"

...and Sheep Man.

Start: "24,25,26,2- oh, we're starting?"
Taunt: "Hang on...if androids dream of electric sheep, what do I dream of?"
Victory: "Time to say goodnight, (insert name of robot here)!
Defeat: "Maybe I should go back to sheep herding..."

BONUS: Gemini Man's quotes? Done. He's got a split personality thing going on, sort of like Gollum, but not as creepy.

Start: "Which one of us is the real one?"
Taunt: "Beat us? We'd like to see you try!"
Victory: "Our clones were pretty impressive, don't you think?"
Defeat: "T-there was a snake! It distracted us! No, really!"
