After doing a lot of testing, I am 95% sure that I have discovered what causes the endless loading glitch. It is caused when you select an attack that will defeat an enemy, which would have dropped an item that you already have 100 of. The endless loading glitch occurs while the server is calculating this, before you are shown the enemy being defeated and dropping the item that you have 100 of. That is why the endless loading glitch seems to occur more often in battles involving mechas and never happens in player battles.
I realized this while using my Ice Man on the Intro field. The endless loading glitch occurred every time after defeating 1 or 2 mets. However, I noticed that I had 100 energy pellets and 100 weapon pellets in my inventory at the time. I started another battle at the intro field and used up 1 of each at the beginning of the battle. Then I was able to complete the entire intro field battle (while using up the additional pellets I was rewarded).
Until this bug is officially fixed, players can stop the endless loading glitch from happening by using up several copies of whichever items that they have 100 of.
Let me know if this bug still occurs while you have less than 100 of any item. It hasn't happened again for me since I started managing my inventory.

I don't believe this is the problem, at least the main one. This happens to me even before I kill amything, although I'm impressed you managed to find one, despite not having the data of the game. I'm glad that you did all that, since it makes the problem easier to analyze for Adrian. Also, the reason why it doesn't happen in players battle is because Adrian fixed it. It used to happen there too.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant that the glitch occurs after you select an attack that will KO the enemy and cause it to drop an item that you already have 100 of. You don't see the enemy actually get defeated and drop the item. The endless loading glitch happens before that.
I'll edit the main post to make that clearer.
MegaBossMan, is it still happening for you while none of the items in your inventory are maxed at 100?

Hmm, that's disappointing. I suspect the glitch probably also happens if you attempt to use Rain Flush to defeat multiple enemies if the enemies would have dropped enough of a specific item to bring your total count over 100. I still haven't been able to trigger it again, but i'll continue to try just to make sure I didn't miss some other factor.
EDIT: I still haven't been able to trigger it again. MegaBossMan, do you remember what you were doing the last time it happened to you?

This is probably right because it usually happens for me when I'm using an attack which would defeat a robot... but I didn't have 100 of an item. And the ONLY time it's happened to me was on the fusion stage of GutsMan and BombMan... nowhere else

Oops....I believe that I'm wrong. I was using IE instead of Chrome, and IE is not the most updated browser. I believe your hypothesis is actually the problem, although how to fix it? You can't just up the amount because it would just happen again.
RonanZer0: When did it trigger for you that one time? Today, or several days back?
MegaBossMan: Ah, ok. I guess Adrian could fix the problem by making it so that enemies never drop items that players are already maxed out on. All we can do is try to keep our inventory managed. I try to make sure I don't have more than 90 of any specific item. I still haven't experienced the glitch again.

I guess I'll go test this out for myself. My inventory was almost completely maxed out. The items are useless for the most part anyway once you get your robots built strong enough.
EDIT: Why do we even need 100 of each item anyway? It would make more sense imo to have just 10 of each item. It would be too easy to beat battles because you can just heal yourself to full health and keep battling. At least items are disabled in Player Battles.
EDIT 2: Went through Final Destination III in Cossack's story three times without the glitch. Guess it is really the items...

Hello everyone, I'm sorry for being so silent the last few weeks. For those who don't know, this is actually Adrian but I use this alt-account for testing and debugging purposes sometimes. Initially the silence was due to me working on a (fairly large) update to the code, but then I got really sick and that lasted forever so I took some forced time off from the game. Apologies for the inconvenience. >_>
Anyway, I'm really happy you guys tracked this down. One of the reasons I imagine I never encountered it is because I do not have anywhere close to 99 of any item in my primary save file. It's still possible that there are other things that cause the endless loading glitch, but if you're are reporting normal gameplay otherwise I have hope. ^_^
There are a lot of fixes coming in the next update that is unfortunately not done yet, but this particular issue has plagued the prototype for so long I thought it deserved special attention and a faster response. I found the line that was causing the problem (leftover code from an earlier version) and after rewriting it I believe I've fixed the bug. The changes have already been uploaded and if this was truly the cause of the infamous glitch then you should have relatively smooth sailing from here on out. :)
Let me know if I'm wrong or you have any other leads, and I'll try to catch up on all the threads I missed in the near future. Thank you for your patience everyone!
I can officially confirm that the bug is fixed. I have never got the endless loading bug since Adrian's post. I've been getting nothing but Weapon Tanks (I have 99 of all others except this one and the really rare item), since the update, and hopefully soon it'll just be the really rare item that is the only one dropping.

I have finally gotten the endless loading glitch once again. I has Bubble Man use Mecha Support, and had the Snapper try to attack a Killer Bullet when the glitch occured. I'll experiment to see if I can cause it to happen again.
EDIT: It seems that it was caused by the enemy Killer Bullet's attack that would have destoyed my Snapper in 1 hit. Can allied mechas drop items? I had 99 energy pellets at the time when it happened.
I also got it again, but under a different condition. The server is lagging badly right now, so if I do an attack while the server is lagging, the attack may not finish. Unless we can make our servers never lag, which I believe is impossible, there's no fix for this one.
Closing this bug report as the 99 item part of the glitch has long since been fixed. If endless loading happens again, it is very likely for another reason and should be a new thread or another existing thread (not this one though).
