First Step:... Use either Bass, Mega-Man, Or Proto-Mans strongest moves,...considerably the Bass Baroque, the Mega-Slide, or the Proto-Strike, with a high Attack and/or speed this'll either One Hit K.O the enemy giving you a greater chance for more BP at the end of the Battle, but remember each Turn counts... check the Turn Counter incase you need planning ahead! (This does not include the % change of the attacks...those have been discussed about in my recent 'Bugs' post about the change and how it engages the Critical Chance.)

@ZeroDXZ : Yeah, sure, they matter, but, they are very much BOOSTED by the stars that you collect, and the more you have, the more they will be boosted.
Stats matter, yes, but, Stars matter more. MUCH more. As I told you that night [12/2], you must get more Stars. 20 isn't gonna you too far up the first page of the leaderboard.

Second Step:...try for the higher BP giving missions preferably the Final Destinations for Dr.Cossack... these with the usual turns...say like against ballade you have either One Turn or Two Turns...you'd have 700% or i think 300% of the prize ....so in result thats ALOT of BP..... Holy Dang!!

WARNING!!This is where it gets very,...very confusing so if you want me to explain give me a personal message and i will explain it)
Step 3! Now.....repeat the First and Second Step BUT! be conservative of your Items (Again PM me about this if you think it's "lousy" or "Not Making Sense" and i shall explain) by doing this, you increase your chances of surviving Final Destination III if your Robots are still under leveled (Sad though how you can't use items on the Player Battles God why!?)
@ZeroDXZ : "Sad though how you can't use items on the Player Battles." Would you like to hear that some person in 1000th place beat you in a battle because they stockpiled items? Obviously I'm exaggerating, but the point is that items would give an unfair advantage to the challenger (although heaven knows I wish I could use them sometimes).
@ThatGuyNamedMikey : i made this so people could at least SUPPORT this, not RUN IT DOWN.... -ahem- yes....stats...stars ...whatever... but this is just for those at LEAST for 50+ (changed the discussion)....also if you look i'm close to 60+ if that's not proof enough that even a small amount of stars can make the leader board....on AT LEAST the 2nd page or the bottom of the 1st (if lucky)

Yeah, stars are pretty much invaluable to becoming the best. In fact, the grinding for getting them alone should be enough to rocket you to the top 20s.
As for the strategy itself....It's a good stepping point, but chump change nonetheless. In fact, one battle with someone like Tails, myself, Nico, or even Mike? Enough to propel you into the 16th position. Not the best strategy out there, and a lot less grinding. However, because not everyone can face battles that offer so much BP(starforce helps), it's either this or fight in Player Battles.
@MegaBossMan : ZeroDXZ:*facepalm* as much as i do agree with you, yes... but seeing as the chances for a One Hit K.O on the Final Destination III Mission for Dr.Cossack...is really low, the only way you could get the highest % of BP until you DO get a One Hit K.O, is by using Bass-Baroque, Mega-Slide, or Proto-Strike with a VERY high Speed and Attack. (plus sadly i don't have the time to grind for the stars..i'd have to use the time of Christmas Break to do that!)

AnyWho, there is a much better way to grind, but How grinding went was: lvl 1-19, Battle normal battles, Lvl 20-60 The VS Wily Battles. Lvl 61-100 BASS AND PROTO; FDII. While after that for all my other robot's i used the BF things, and for BP... You get some from grinding for starforce (Which i should do since mikey's always bugging me about it.) You could get some Good BP, But you would need at the minimum, usually maybe 2-5 Bass baroque/Proto Strike/Mega Slide. (i got proto's thing just dont remember the name). But yeah, PB is best for BP as in 1 battle you usually get (normally) at least 1,000,000 BP and even more with Rain flush, as it's very useful.
