[Wise fwom youw gwave!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOQcnliEjXM)

Anyone remember this thread? Just me? Aw, well. There isn't a chat tonight, so I may as well take the time to post a few headcannons I've had lying around for a while.

o Metal Man is a skilled mechanic, and Wily often tasks him with repairing the other Robot Masters after Rock roughs them up. He isn't very gentle, though, and his bedside manner is lacking...
o Heat Man and Crash Man are best buddies. They hang out a lot on and off duty, and Heat is usually the one to calm Crash down whenever he gets riled up.
o After the events of Mega Man 4, Dr. Cossack employs Skull Man as a sort of lab assistant/butler/bodyguard. Oh, and as a babysitter and playmate for Kalinka.
o Proto Man is more musical than he lets on. Besides his trademark whistle, he's composed quite a few tunes while wandering the Earth. Whenever he visits Cossack Citadel, he and the similarly-minded Toad Man get together for a jam session or two.
o Fire Man enjoys watching reruns of Gunsmoke and old John Wayne westerns.
o Plug Man's favorite anime is Cowboy Bebop, followed closely by Space Dandy.
o Top Man is a total nerd for 70's-80's pop music, and has a ton of old-school tape decks in his quarters in Wily Castle. Magnet Man regularly scrambles them with stray electromagnetic pulses, much to Top's dismay.
o Rock is a rabid FIFA fan, especially when World Cup season rolls around(he always roots for Japan, of course). Mega Man's Soccer is the result of Bomb Man spiking one of Rock's E-Tanks during a particularly wild victory party.
o Guts Man isn't as thick-headed as his brothers think. He actually has incredible knowledge in civil engineering and classical architecture.

Does anyone know how to post pictures directly from the web? Without saving them to your computer, I mean.

I know it's past Halloween, but I just can't get [Ghosts by Mystery Skulls](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlEb3L1PIco) out of my head! It's probably one of the catchiest techno-pop tunes I've heard in a long while. Fair warning, though: I'd rate this song T for a single F-bomb (though it's a bit hard to make out unless you're looking for it), implied dismemberment, and some major feels near the end. Oh, and spectral fire pompadours.

(OOC: Welcome back, Chaos!)

"Beg pardon sir, but-ack!" Print Man blurted as Knight's blow forcibly dismounted him from the Iron Horse. However, his left foot remained stuck in the stirrup, leaving the author-bot to be dragged about the chamber. Barley maintaining his grasp on his Vorpal Pen , Print Man let loose a stream of ink from the tip of the blade, tripping the pursing Knight and leaving him covered in the slimy black liquid. "Would someone-oof!-mind igniting-arugh!-that puddle?" Print Man stuttered amidst the flurry of kicks from the unruly Iron Horse.

Hurray for posting on your own threads! Anyhow, here are my ideas...

-Pharaoh Man: A Ruby-Spears cartoon themed palate. Sweet cape and uppercuts not included.
-Ice Man: A dark blue palate. Another, albeit subtle, Ruby-Spears reference.
-Hard Man: A red, white, and blue palate. A nice Rocky 4 reference, in response to this.
-(Solid) Snake Man: A palate based off any of Metal Gear's Snakes (maybe one of Naked Snake's camo patterns from Snake Eater?) Why? Because puns, that's why.
-Heat Man: A silver palate, similar to a Zippo lighter. Might snag us a lawsuit, but we should be fine as long as we don't drop any names.

Seizing the opportunity Gamble Man had so generously provided, Print Man ripped a strip of cloth from a half-burnt banner. Taking a end in each hand, he wrapped it around a nearby column and pulled himself up with it, gaining an excellent vantage point over the battle. "Steady...steady..." Print Man muttered to himself as he heard the cloth begin to tear.

He didn't have to hold on for long. Soon enough, Insanity Man barreled toward the pillar he was desperately clutching to, prompting Knight's steed to knock him away yet again. Just before it could return to the engagement, Print Man leapt from his perch and landed atop the distracted mount. He scrambled for the reins as the iron horse attempted to buck him off its back.

Ducking behind a pillar to evade Knight's charge, Print Man took a moment to strategize. A knight on horseback...just as I theorized!" He thought to himself. "If King's challenges are chess-themed, and we've already seen a Pawn and a Knight, next will be a Rook, a Bishop, a Queen, and finally...a King. The King, no doubt."

"But back to the situation at hand. If my studies of medieval literature have taught me anything, it's that plate armor was bulky and difficult to maneuver in on foot. If a strong enough blow can forcibly dismount that fiend, he'll be a sitting duck while we bombard him from afar!"

Print Man's musings were interrupted as Knight battered through the pillar he was taking cover behind. Scrambling back to his allies, Print Man unsheathed his Vorpal Pen and prepared for battle.

Getting to his feet, Print Man dusted off his coat and sheathed his sword. "Well, that could have gone over better" he grumbled. He briefly surveyed the scene around him before turning to Gamble Man. "I suppose we ought to be on our way. As for what's ahead, I have a few theories. But there are no secrets that time does not reveal, as Racine said."

The torrent of water flung Print Man across the courtyard, dropping him onto a hedge row. Seething in fury, he armed his Pencil Buster and targeted the Pawn in the fountain. But after pausing for a moment, he instead shot at the base of the statue of King atop the fountain, casing it to fall onto the hapless Pawn bellow.

"Check and mate." grinned Print Man.

Before Print Man could rejoin the rest of the party, the two Pawns he had knocked away leap up and grasped him by the coat and punning him down. Landing on his bottom, he retaliated by swiftly kicking both Pawns; one landed in a hedge row a few meters away, while the other was knocked into the fountain halfway across the courtyard. The former got right back up and rushed towards him, only to be met with a hail of shots from his Pencil Buster.

"Who's the comic relief now, eh?"

"'Comic relief'? Why, I never!" Print Man exclaimed as he suddenly got to his feet. Drawing his Vorpal Pen, he knocked away both Pawns with a well-placed slice.

Spitting the dirt from his mouth, he took a moment to examine his surroundings. The beautiful courtyard had been thrown into disarray, with several shrubs uprooted and a few on fire. An elegant fountain stood in the middle of the chaos, topped by a shield-bearing statue of King. Normally, Print Man would have taken a moment to awe at its beauty.

But now was not the time. "We'll see who's the real comic relief!" cried Print Man as he rushed into battle.

Panting heavily, Print Man stumbled toward the rest of the party. Not the most athletic of robots, he’d been lagging behind for most of the journey. It was just his luck that King had installed an anti-teleportation field around his tower, probably to keep out any unwanted visitors. He hadn't heard much of the gatekeeper robot’s speech, but he’d heard enough to know the robots he’d been traveling with in stony silence for the last few hours were now his only allies.

Print Man looked about at the three other robots in front of him. The first was the tallest of the bunch, casting a massive shadow over his smaller compatriots. A purple, armadillo-like shell almost half his size hung from his back, and a devilish smirk crossed his face. The second was much stouter, with a bright orange hull decorated with red and black markings, much like those of playing card suits. His expression was blank, but it was clear he was carefully observing everyone around him. The last was what appeared to be a mechanical iteration of a high fantasy wizard, complete with a robe, pointed cap, and staff. He sat in a meditative stance, legs crossed and eyes closed.

After a full minute of silence, Print Man dusted off his coat, adjusted his beret, cleared his throat, and began to speak.

“Afternoon, gentlemen. Seems like we’re together in all this, so like that gatekeeper fellow said, we may as well get acquainted.”

Silence.

“…guess I’ll go first, then. The name’s Print Man; I’m an author. I trust some of you are familiar with my work? Not that it matters now, what with the situation at hand.”

More silence. This time accompanied by razor-sharp glares.

“Erm…anyone else care to introduce themselves?”

@Mikey765000 Welcome to the forum, Mike!

Yeah, X7 stinks. I wish that game would just BURN BURN TO THE GROUND! Er, excuse me.

Thanks! I know King isn't exactly a tyrant (what with him being Wily's pawn and all), but it was the best phrase I could think off.

Also, "fattling gun". Use spellcheck, kids.

Here’s my entry. I might tweak it a bit, though. And here's a song for your listening pleasure; I think it suits the character quite well.

“A gauntlet, eh? This is exactly what I need for my next book! I’ll make those fools tremble before the power of literature!”

Entry Fourm
Name: Print Man
Designation: MPN. (Monsteropolis Publishers Number) 012

Background:
Print Man was one of many robots charged with the operation and patience of printing presses of a major publishing company. Soon after his activation, he grew tired of printing the writings of others and wished to express his own creativity. Eventually, he quit his job and decided to write his own book. Print Man spent several years in isolation, all spent on creating his “masterpiece”. Entitled Oil and Ink, it was a “true-life drama” about a robot who quits his job at a print-shop and writes a best-selling novel.

The latter cannot be said of Print Man: Oil and Ink sold an astounding seven copies and made its author less than a hundred zenny. He immediately became the laughingstock of both Monsteropolis his former company. Publicly humiliated and out of a job, Print Man sunk into a deep depression. He frequented oil bars, drowning his sorrows in E-Tanks while sharing his woes with anyone who would listen. He still wrote, becoming a freelance writer for some of Monsteropolis’ independent literary journals.

Upon hearing of King’s Gambit, Print Man had a glimmer of hope. If he could defeat the tin-plated tyrant’s challenge, he would have the story of a lifetime! A thrilling tale of swashbuckling adventure would be a perfect page-turner! Print Man immediately set out for King’s Tower, his mind adrift in thoughts of riches and fame…

Weapons/Abilities:
Having little to know combat experience before hearing word of King’s challenge, Print Man raced to assemble a makeshift arsenal. Remembering the old adage of “The pen is mightier than the sword”, he combined the two instruments into one lethal device. Dubbed the “Vorpal Pen”, this weapon can disorient Print Man’s opponents with industrial-grade printing ink, leaving them wide open for a lethal slash. For ranged combat, Print Man relies on the “Pencil Buster”, a pencil-styled gattling gun that fires finely-sharpened tungsten points (resembling the graphite tips of pencils).

Personality:
Print Man is extremely talkative, capable of waxing on about a single subject (usually his own work) for hours. His long seclusion has made him rather awkward in public; while his writing may be eloquent, he is not. He has also known to dabble in theater, having acted in several local productions of R. U. R. prior to his entry into the Gauntlet. He reveres the authors, poets, and playwrights of days gone by like gods among men, quoting them whenever he sees fit. Print Man enjoys spending his afternoons libraries and bookstores, but despises “lesser publications” such as romance novels and tabloids.

Appearance:
Print Man has a humanoid design that calls Crash Man, Flash Man, and Magnet Man to mind, albeit in a dirty white. He conceals himself beneath a trench coat and “artistic” beret. His left hand holds his Vorpal Pen, while his right is an emplacement for his Pencil Buster.

Accepted!
