’Twas the night before Christmas, yes so dark a night,
That the only illumination found was in the Starforce’s light.
The users were stirring and stirring, with thoughts of Smash,
Awaiting that red-clad man with his oh-so iconic moustache.
Yet little did they know, and little did they see;
That there was a group sneaking presents under the Christmas tree.
“Go, Shiver! Go, Doc! Move as fast as a spear!”
“Go, Spinstrike! Go, Brorman--... wait these guys aren’t even here.”
“Rhythm, Boss, quickly, as gracefully as Flamingoes!
“...And, please promise to stop breaking everyone’s windows…”
What does this mean?! Who could it be?!
Seeing you’re on this site, it’s probably Adrian and the MMRPG team!
And so on the entirety of Prototype, they had this to bestow:
Blizzard Man, Freeze Man, and Frost Man, a quite season-appropriate trio.
There was also new Roll alts and mechanic changes, how all so swell,
When suddenly everyone could hear Adrian yell,
“I’ve given you all your Mega Man 5, no longer may you sneer;
Happy Christmas to all, expect the next update in like another year!!!”

You know, in retrospect the Christmas poem idea maybe wasn’t such a great idea. Maybe it just goes on too long for a news post intro, or maybe it’s not bad enough? Granted, I excuse myself as Christmas is essentially the season of being lame, what with cheesy specials or ugly sweaters or socks for presents…. But, err, let’s move on to what you actually came for and forget this ever happened, cool?

Update Overview
More New Playable Robots Have Also Arrived!
Blizzard Attack
Freeze Cracker Gif
Frost Wave Gif

As with our previous update in the previous December 2018 thread, we’ve continued with adding even more Robot Masters to the Prototype! This time, we’ve focused in on Robot Masters that’ll charmingly fit in thematically with the Winter season, those being Blizzard Man, Freeze Man, and Frost Man. Despite sharing the same core-type, all three of these Robot Masters vary wildly from each other from their statistical make-up to their designs, hopefully bringing enough variety to keep each distinct and interesting. These three had their sheets done by MMX100, myself, and Brash Buster respectively, so special thanks to my fellow sheet-makers on the staff for their work. Oh, and as you’d expect by now, all three of these robots do bring their own techniques into Prototype as well, and each works intrinsically different.
- Blizzard Attack works functionally different than its appearance in Mega Man 6, performing here as more of a Rain Flush-esque AoE weapon that damages each individual robot on the opponent’s side. Though obviously it may not be your go-to for individual battles, it’s a great effort towards offering middling damage against a wide array of opponents.
- Freeze Cracker is a dual-core Freeze / Explode attack that explodes on contact with its opponent, offering a type mix-up that’s not been found prior naturally thus far. However, its primary gimmick is based upon who you target; targeting an active robot may just offer selective damage, but targeting a bench robot will instead cause the projectile to split and scatter, causing adjacent robots to be struck by the debris as well!
- Finally, Frost Wave is a more traditional offering for versatility, being a series of ice shards that races towards your opposition to inflict freeze-core damage. As an added benefit, this technique slightly lowers the opponent’s attack stat as well, which is certainly always welcome.
It certainly took quite a bit of effort on everyone’s part here to release these series of robots before the holidays fully kicked in, but we figured that continuing to add these robots would be a welcome way to wrap up this year, especially with the recent series of December updates introducing a wide plethora of new additive content. As always, look towards Kalinka’s shop for purchasing the new aforementioned Robot Masters and their abilities. With this, we think Prototype has a strong foundation now for introducing further new content for the next duration in 2019…. Foundation. Foundation. Foundation… I feel like I’m forgetting some architecture thing…. Never mind.
Reduced Prices and Loyalty Discounts: Kalinka’s Gone Crazy!
Kalinka’s Shop
Basic supply and demand dictates market value, and since we’ve been adding a boatload of new Robot Masters, Kalinka’s been forced to drop the default prices of Robot Master data, from 48,000 Zeni to a massive drop of 32,000 Zeni. However, that’s not all; loyalty discounts are also available to high-level customers, meaning purchase price will continue to plummet based upon your prior shop history. It’s a minor update to the shop system all things considered, but nonetheless I imagine it’ll do massive wonders for users who may be a bit behind in Zeni total. As such, new Robot Masters are no longer an exclusive right for the bourgeoisie, for now everyone can own their own brand-new, spiffy Robot Masters for a fair price. And since we haven’t even come close to adding every robot possibly available yet, rest assured that you won’t have to panic over not being able to purchase new material in the future. Please feel free to let us know any general feedback you have on any of the fine-tuning and balancing done recently on the shop system.
Go Beyond-- Easily! Maxing Out Your Robots!
Look how jacked these boys are!
There’s no doubt that Prototype has its fair amount of grind, which while often necessary in RPGs, is somewhat dated and may be considered poor game design overall. The specific grind being addressed here is the stat-grind, where after a robot reaches level 100, players can continue to strengthen their robots by downloading defeated data to gradually increase their stats. This feature debuted with playable characters capping out at 9999 in each stat, though obviously this was arduous and made each individual robot… well, less individual. Stat limits were imposed and were based on the robot’s existing base stat data, but even this was perhaps too gradual and tedious to not feel inconsequential. Now, level 100 robots receive 100x the knockout bonus, so fully-maxing out your characters can be done in a matter of a few short battles! This decision was again tied to the addition of new playable Robot Masters, as a slew of new Robot Masters meant the chore of extra grinding and… blegh. Features like this should be far more accessible to a wide majority of players rather than a select dedicated few, and so forth greater focus is placed on your own individual strategies and not because one player could simply shill out more time to make their Robot Masters of greater use. We will continue to look into refining Prototype and making certain features far more accessible to the entirety of our playerbase.
A Familiar Modern Look For The Helpful Lab Assistant, Roll!
Roll’s New Alt

2018 brought with it, finally, a long-awaited entirely new Mega Man game, Mega Man 11! While new Robot Masters from the new title may be a long ways off for Prototype unfortunately, we did decide to incorporate Roll’s latest outfit introduced in the game. While it does share similarities with her MM8 outfit, there are slight alterations, namely in the form of that oh-so adorable hood. This appearance, like the rest of her sheets, were done by community moderator and contributor, Rhythm, who as usual never fails to impress with his output. Alongside the 11 look, Roll will also have a blue ‘Mega’ alteration of that same outfit, as is tradition with her alts. These alts can be purchased in Auto’s shop after obtaining the Dress Codes item, in the same fashion as every alt in the game. We hope you enjoy this fun little added bonus. :)

Charting the Stars -- Explore the Star Fields!
Stars Chapter
As a final treat for the year and in the lead-up to New Years Eve, we've added a new feature to the Prototype that makes hunting for Starforce so much easier and more convenient it's almost maddening we didn't think of it sooner. A new tab labelled "Stars" will now appear in the mission select screen once you've beaten the main campaign and unlocked the post-game "bonus" chapters. The new "Star Fields" chapter will randomly generate missions for any field or fusion stars you don't already have to help you on your quest to collect all 1024. Because these are post-game missions, they reward zenny instead of battle points and are there for the sole purpose of collecting new stars for those who opt to take advantage of it. The robots found in these missions start at Level 50 but grow stronger as you inch closer to 100% completion, making some of these the toughest non-player fights in the game. In addition to the new Star Fields chapter there are a two other small changes to the bonus chapters. Firstly, the "Bonus" tab has been renamed "Random" (as that's what it really is) and both randomized missions within now have a full eight targets to fight (so its easier to encounter new bots). Secondly, the zenny received from Player Battles has been greatly increased and should now be be worth the extra effort needed to clear them. Okay, that's it - enjoy!
Conclusion
In summation, this update has added Blizzard Man, Freeze Man, Frost Man, a new Roll look, revised shop prices, and increased knockout bonuses. For a closing update crafted as one last Holiday reverie before the year’s end, I believe it’s a good mark to end on. I’m well-aware that 2018 may not have been the most developmentally-filled year, but nonetheless I must thank those of you still sticking with us or continuing to join; it is through this community’s united passion that we continue to grow and aspire to continually improve what doesn’t, and does, work. Thus, I cannot stress how thankful all of us in the staff are that you’ve merely chosen to play this game, and keep entertaining this passion project of ours. And while I’m biased as a moderator, I absolutely enjoy coming in every day to participate with all of you in the chatroom and community; you guys help keep all of this fun! ^_^
….. That being said, I’m really trying to wrap this whole thing up in a nice bow, but there’s still that feeling I’m missing something here…. Is this just some extreme case of writer’s block…. Block…. Block…. hmmmmmmm…..
Huh?

@Chill : Block Man definitely is, but you're going to have to find and scan him in Bonus Field or Earth Starforce-boosted missions.

Even though these quotes are kind of Bizzare

He's a link to my quotes I made

http://prototype.mmrpg-world.net/community/development/222/prototype-devroom-robot-quotes/8/#comment-listing

Why does Block Man looks completely different to the Block Man silhouette block-man
IN MY OPINION this looks unpolished compare to those like Freeze Man and Gemini Man

ANYWAY CAN WE GET MY MAN TORNADO MAN AND CHILL MAN

It appears that in all the rampant Holiday commotion yesterday... We may have missed one last feature to add! :)

This isn't the place for that, you know. Your Pharaoh Man is also at Level 100, so of course he won't get any more EXP.
