Two beams of light shoot across the tranquil cloudy sky, their destination lying to the west....wait, are they going north now?....Now they're changing direction and going east....aaaaaaand they're going west again.
You'd think Dive Man is toying with us...

A few minutes later, the duo pinpoint Dive Man's location in a familiar location... He's....here? The only reason he'd be here is that he didn't make it...
We can't jump to conclusions. Neither of us investigated this place after the nuke, so we could probably find some clues around here. Remember that Dive Man's GPS still worked...
That's true. But we should still be our guard. the GPS is proof that some things may have survived the blast, however small of a chance.

When they materialize on the site, it doesn't take them long to find something. Hey, Di-....*glances at Drill Man* (Wait a sec...)
*nods* (Tread lightly. VERY lightly.)
Tread....lightly?
*starts walking towards Dive Man* Hey, Dive Man! What happened to you, man?
*whirls around with a look of surprise, then sighs.* Please try not to scare me like that again, sir. I have been investigating the remains of this suspicious hideout for anything useful as requested by Dr. Cossack.
Skull Man cocks his head slightly.
Oh? And how long do you say you've been doing that?
Oddly enough, I cannot recall, sir.
*walks up next to Skull Man* That is pretty odd, Dive. Why do you think that is?
Well, according to my systems log, I was disabled for a good hour or so, which might have fried my memory banks. Then again, as the humans say,
"time flies when you're having fun!"...or working intently for that matter.*turns around* Where have you-...wait a second, why are you glaring at me like that, comrades?

*gives Drill Man a sideways glare* I believe you were the one who said, "We can't jump to conclusions."

I've been part of this team long enough to know suspicion when I see it, especially on his face. *points to Drill Man* On what grounds am I a suspect, and what am I a suspect of?

*crosses arms* Dive Man, didn't you find it strange that you just woke up here at the place you were supposed to investigate?
Can't say I did. Perhaps if I had my memory, I could have a chance to piece together what disabled me and why, but due to the lack thereof,
I decided it was pointless to wonder and proceeded to my task.

I checked my digital to-do list, of course.
Drill Man gave Dive Man a look as if he said "Of course I eat with chopsticks. Duh!"
Wait...you actually use that? You can't just remember simple day-to-day tasks?
Well, the doctor ordered me to use it, saying that it helps him remember lots of things that he'd normally forget, like where he put his glasses,
when to take his meds, etc. As you should know, I never disobey an order.
Drill Man would've facepalmed if he could.
Dive, he's like 60 years old; of course he forgets things. Trust me, that wasn't even an order, let alone one you should follow.
Well, I think that pretty much accounts for everything. Have you found anything?
*shakes head* You guys can help me search if you'd like.
We have a mission of our own that I'm sure takes precedence over yours. Dr. Cossack was attacked and knocked unconscious, and we're trying to figure out who and why.
Dive Man's eyes widen, then he snaps to attention.

You think I'm gonna just agree to this? He still can't explain how he escaped from his captors or even how long he's been here because he LOST HIS MEMORY!?

In my professional opinion, I am best fitted for a defense role, and since you two know more about the investigation than I do, may I
suggest that you leave me with Dr. Cossack in order to prevent future attacks?
Now Skull Man was looking wary.
Leaving you alone, especially to protect the doctor, is something that requires a lot of trust.
Dive Man let out an exasperated sigh.
This is ridiculous! You still suspect me and I don't even know why! What will it take to prove that I am not suspicious? I finally meet you two
after waking up, and no sooner have I greeted you, than you start treating me as a criminal! How is this fair to me?
*sigh and turns to Drill Man* (He has a point. We have no solid proof that there's even anything suspicious about him to begin with.
I'm starting to wonder if we jumped the gun.)
(You gotta admit that something's off, though. His story makes sense as a possibility, but it's one heck of a story.)

Drill Man pauses for awhile, then points a drill at Dive Man.
Weaknesses or not, I will pulverize you if you try anything funny. We clear?

Crystal, sir. However, my anti-matter manipulator is dysfunctional, so you will have to teleport me there.
Drill Man reluctantly nods, but as he's about to confirm the coordinates into his arm, he stops suddenly...
*music stops*

Drill Man puts his arm down and eyes Dive Man.
Are you sure you can't remember anything?
*sadly nods* I wish I had more information for you, but I can't remember anything beyond short-term memory, such as you guys telling me about
the doctor's attack, although that too may fade with time if I am not fixed.
Can't remember a single thing. *looks at Skull Man* How about that?
Skull Man looks at the ground with a blank stare as he thinks.....then his eyes widen and he looks up to Dive Man.
Dive Man, what is my name?

*points drill at Dive Man* I think you're catching on.
All you had to do was get me to Cossack to finish the job! The Master does not tolerate failure!

Drill Man tackled Skull Man as the incoming ball mowed down Dive Man, barreled past The Master who had swiftly dodged it, and flew over the other two robots. NNGH!....I....c-can't....*falls over*

*Proto Man notices a mural on the wall....*
This mural...If I'm not wrong, those were the ancient people.

There they are, worshipping celestial beings...But!
*Proto Man notices a being in the mural, standing on top of a pyramid....*
What is that? A god of some sort? Wait, on the side....Duo! It seems he's saving the people....From rule? But, there's two Duos....Could that be the evil one who brought the Evil Energy here.....

*Proto Man suddenly realizes....

Wait, two?! The evil Duo.....He used to work with Duo...And the Master can take over hearts.....And that being standing on the pyramid....It makes sense...All of it.
The Duo that was evil...He wasn't acting of his own accord, was he? He was infected by that Master....And they managed to defeat the Master, and took the energy source it wanted....But the other Duo was convinced to bring it back...Because he must have had a shred of evil within him...

*Proto Man rubs the wall, and when he touches the Master's figure on the mural.....A flash comes and a click is heard!

That flash! Where is it coming from? Wait, over there! Wait, is it?...Yes! It's the starforce!
A Explode star, eh? *Proto Man puts in the star*
Strange...I saw how Mega Man and Bass were struggling with this,....but this star almost FEELS....Right....It must be something with my core...Or I could be inching closer to death....
Nothing of the future! What matters now is the present....And last time I checked, I have a spiked ball to take care of....But there's two units next to him...It'd be better if I waited and see if they could handle him without me....I'm still not too sure WHO I can trust...

Meanwhile...
You think we should help Skull Man and Drill Man?
They managed to beat him before, so we won't need to worry.
Man, I wish there could be something we can do to help... everyone's scattered around everywhere and are in no danger. Enker is off doing who-knows-what, TOPHOUND is fighting Top Man, Roll, and some of the HWN Hunters, Punk is fighting Drill Man and Skull Man, ...There seems to be no major threat.
I don't know, Bt Man... Someone could become under the unknown Master's control at this moment...

Meanwhile, in Wily's Lab and somewhere near Punk, Skull Man, and Drill Man...
(Shadow Man stops walking and Heat Man is in a tube. Suddenly, Heat Man's eyes open, and then both of the robots' eyes glow red)
Yep. They became under control of that Master. I guess the Master finally gave Heat Man a chance... and assigned him to team up with Shadow Man!
Where will they strike? What are the plans? Who will stop them? We will find out soon enough.
