The 1st Prototype Mega Man Character Tournament took place inside this thread. This was where the greatest Mega Man Character of all time [or at least, for now] was be decided on by the people of Prototype.
Every night at 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time [EST], I posted a division of 4 pairs of 2 characters, each. The people of Prototype got to vote on their more favored character in each pair [one vote per person]. The character with more votes advanceed to the next round. In the case of a tie, yours truly gave the tiebreaking vote; I disallowed myself from voting in this tourney, otherwise.
The 4 that advanced from Round 1 did battle in Round 2. The 2 winners of Round 2 advanced to the Division Final, and the winner there advanced to the Grand Division, which I saved for last, as the winner of THAT Division was supposed to crowned the greatest MM character of all time [or at least for now] as voted by the people of Prototype.
In the end, there was shockers and snoozefests. Predictability and UNpredictability. Complete blowouts and close nail-biters.

Oh geez. Figures the prodigal sons have to fight once more. I think I am going to have to go with Mega Man, but that is super close. Now, from one close match to an easy one. Terra
Oh, boy... Who do I like better, the Renegade Prototype or the Explosion-Loving Stardroid Leader? Hm, on one hand, we have Proto Man. He has a shield, a buster that doesn't really need to be charged, and he's pretty cool. Also, his whistle is catchy. If that's not enough, then I have 3 last things to say about him: Shades. And. Scarf. (Also, he has a nuclear core or something like that. There's that, too.) On the other hand, there's the leader of the Stardroids. He has lasers and attacks with fire. His main weapon could even destroy planets! He also enjoy explosions, as seen in one of Boss' random comics before Cut's Corner. Also, he's literally a doomsday weapon. So, let's see. For Proto Man, he has a shield, powerful buster, the cool personality, a catchy whistle, shades, a scarf, and a nuclear core. That's 7 things going for him. As for Sunstar, he's the Stardroid leader, he has lasers, he has fire, his weapon can destroy planets, he likes explosions, and he's the personification (robotification?) of a Doomsday Weapon. That's 6 things. Hmm... It seems that Proto Man wins my vote by 1 thing I like about him.
Aw, shoot. I really did not get lucky on this contest. My favorites did not get very far... oh well. Different strokes for different folks.
Anywho, although Sunstar is a really cool character, I would argue he is more complementary to his game and it's own story. Heck, I even prefer some of the Stardroids to him. So, to start what I am assuming will be a landslide, gotta go with the brother in red, Mari-er, Proto Man.
Sorry Proto, Sunstar gets my vote. His color scheme is a bit...Off, sure, but overall he's a better fight than most of Proto's common battles, and he's kinda interesting in concept. In most cases, I'd want to pick Proto, but....My gut's telling me go with Sunstar here.
