Alright everyone, this game definitely needs it's own FAQ for new players, but I'm finding it quite hard to pin-down what should be included. So, I'm just going to leave this thread here and if any of you notice things that are not clear or might be confusing to a new player, post them here and I'll use them to (someday) construct a full-page list of anything a newcomer would need to know. This exercise might also help me discover weaknesses in the website and/or prototype's design, so I encourage everyone to participate and let me know your thoughts in the comments. Thank you!
Please be aware that some of this information could be outdated. See the Official Question and Answer thread or post below if you have any questions.-MBM

I noticed when changing Lights fields the mm2 thru 4 masters lit up as if unlockable. Does this mean I can unlock multiple of the same robot, or will this change the owner of the bot?
Side question: do the mm3 bots canonically belong to light or wily?
@Toast : That just means you haven't defeated that robot yet with that specific doctor. There was a time when defeating them with different doctors would award you extra points, but as of now this is a holdover and doesn't grant you anything special.
Canonically the MM3 robots were definitely co-designed by both Light and Wily.... but with them causing havoc in MM3 I'd definitely say Wily used them perhaps a little more. They also seem to show up under Wily's control in other games as well... though in Prototype they're initially spawned to the doctor with the stat that corresponds with them most. So for example, since Wily gives a 25% attack stat increase, someone with strong offense like Needle Man would go to him first. You can obviously sort them to any doctor you like though once you've unlocked them.
@Mello Man : Battle points are accumulated by how much you've completed the game; Prototype has thousands of things to collect and attain, so reaching the top spot is essentially limitless and seems to be a good way to quantify rank in a RPG system. There's no technical guide on what things you collect earns you battle points, but luckily there is a method; you can take a look at a top player's account and see what they've unlocked that you haven't. You can check the points tab of every player to know what things you have to accomplish and stockpile to overtake their rank. Just know that it's a long road; you're up against some real completionist types all looking to be #1!
@Robbie.K.Rotten : MMRPG's soundtrack was created and used with permission by LegendofRenagade, the original artist. He specializes in Genesis tracks, and you can find all of his Mega Man classic remixes in this conveniently-made playlist.
@Soren : There may be a few special exceptions that are specifically named like Wily Castle and Light Labs in the series, but for the most part, yes. Most of the stages aren't specifically named in the series, and we have to come up with completely unique names so that each field's name is completely distinct from each other -- this is due to the Fusion Field mechanic in Chapter 4, where any stage can be matched up with another. Likewise it's the same situation for the Starforce fields.

@Superion06 : How is Doc Robot a Custom Boss? He existed since Mega Man 3! Also when chatting make sure to update your post unless it’s been a week or so. Just so the Thread Chat doesn’t get too B i g . And who knows if we are even getting those robots because they arn’t from the Mega Man Series
@Soren : like in mega man 3, the Doc robot can use ANY of the mega man 2 powers, which (in theory)means that he can have custom attacks (like Block Dropper or Wild Coil), and what do you mean the others aren't in the series, unless you mean canon-wise.
@Superion06 : How are they custom moves? The term “Custom” means weapons that DONT exist within the Mega Man Series are givin to the robot/boss. Also 1 of the weapons you said (Wild Coil) is not accessible by now. The DOS and CFTF games arn’t in the Classic Series and are games made by other Developers and are not canon “Sequels” to any of the games
@Superion06 : Yes, you're right that Quint was technically made by another developer studio (Japan System House handled MMII on the GB, for those unaware), and while he's certainly made official appearances yet again in games like Rockboard and Mega Man and Bass, he's not that much less of an oddity than something like the Challenger from the Future robots. For the most part, it comes down to the fact that Quint was generally planned to be in the MMRPG from the start, and a lot of the miscellaneous obscure Robot Masters from DOS and CftF weren't. It's something that the staff has to discuss and go over on whether or not we expand our scope of RMs, if the tools are available to do so, and if we're overall willing to do so. Ultimately, it has to be unanimous. One of those things we'll just have to see, but I'm certainly glad there are so many fans of the Robot Masters who didn't quite get as much as the limelight of the main title games.
And for custom bosses? There are a few completely original Boss characters that we have lined up, but if you're talking copy-cores that can use any move specifically, that just depends on necessity and if we need some sort of character to fill that role. Nothing planned on that front for now.

@MegaBossMan : Well, I'm not exactly saying copy cores, but I am talking about like cameo moves (Maybe like Ryu's Hadoken, or The Power Battle's Pharaoh Wave). The Idea of having DOS and CftF are actually cool, because like Guts Man and Spark Man, Their remakes could look awesome! (Not to mention the TV show robots / Dreamwave and Archie Comics / manga robots / Bond Man)
