Description: With no trace of Sigma left, the earth lies in peace. A few years later, 8 Mavericks have appeared across the earth, causing chaos and destruction by using Fusion Attacks. Who could be behind the attack this time?
Fusion Attacks: When you connect two weapons together to create more powerful attacks. This ability is different for X and Zero. X can connect 2 weapons obtained from Mavericks. Only some weapons can be connected with others. Zero can connect a technique to his saber creating different effects.

Along the way you'll be able to find Light Capsules around the stage, which'll grant Armor Parts. Armor Parts cannot be fused with each other. They can be mixed.
Returning Armors:
Unarmored X: The one you start with. Shots cannot go through walls. Has a dash, a charge shot and is able to use special weapons.
Third Armor X: The third armor that appears in Mega Man X3. You get this after clearing the Intro Stage.
Third Armor (Head): The helmet will beep when X is close to an item.
Third Armor (Body): Taken damage is reduced by 5%. Does not grant a shield when hit.
Third Armor (Arm): Able to charge up the buster and special weapons. The buster gets the Cross Charge Shot (Level 4 (Normal, Mid, Charge, Cross Charge)) which gives X the ability to fire from both busters in succession. Cross
Third Armor (Foot): Able to perform an airdash.
Zero: Zero's starting set. Has a dash, an airdash and is able to use techniques.
Black Zero: Secret set for Zero. Simply a cosmetic, though.
New Armors:
Fox Armor X: One of the new armors for this game. Found in the Maverick stages. Gives X the appearance of a fox. Unable to use special weapons.
Fox Armor (Head): Grants X the ability to slash through enemies and objects with Fox Claw.
Fox Armor (Body): Reduces damage by 5% and takes no knockback.
Fox Armor (Arm): Gives X the Fox Buster. The Fox Buster only has 2 levels of charge. While charging, X will get a speed boost.
Fox Armor (Foot): Able to airdash in 3 directions and can be performed out of a dash jump.
Dragon Armor X: One of the new armors for this game. Found in the Fusion Maverick stages. Gives X the appearance of a dragon.
Dragon Armor (Head): Reduces weapon energy cost by 25%.
Dragon Armor (Body): Taken damage is reduced by 10% and knockback is reduced. Gives Dragon Crush. Dragon Crush works differently from other weapons. Dragon Crush grants one use before needing to refill. Dragon Crush is refilled by taking damage. It destroys everything on screen with a powerful attack.
Dragon Armor (Arm): Gives the Dragon Buster. The Dragon Buster is able to charge the buster further (Level 4) and can charge up special weapons. At full charge, the Dragon Buster unleashes a powerful charge shot that goes past enemies.
Dragon Armor (Foot): Similar to the Fox Armor, but the airdash is shorter, able to dash in 4 directions and cannot be performed out of a dash jump.
