Based on Copyie's old Fighting Game Thread, this one is designed with a storyline. (Though, the only interaction you guys will be able to have would be with said story is who will be a part of it, and even then there's no real guarantee they will be.)

STORY:
A new source of power, known as the Ultra Gems, have been noticed worldwide. Many people wish to obtain them all for different reasons: Greed, to get stronger, for research, or to destroy them. However, with so many people fighting over them, it has been decided to hold a tournament... And the winner gets to keep all the Ultra Gems. There are 6 different kinds of Ultra Gems: Power, Defense, Speed, Intelligence, Skill, and Recovery.

But, just where did these Ultra Gems come from? Perhaps this tournament will reveal all in a way nobody would ever suspect...
The Ultra Gems, despite being the ones fought for in the game, are usable in-game as power-ups, like the Infinity Stones from MvC Infinity, except they don't have any form of extra attack. Here are the effects below in case you are curious:
None- Fight without the help of an Ultra Gem.
Power- Increases attack power.
Defense- Decreases damage taken and removes flinching and knockback.
Speed- Increases movement speed.
Intelligence- Creates a duplicate of your character to deal extra damage as well as use of a meat shield.
Skill- Reduces end lag for better combos.
Recovery- Gives the character health regeneration.

Game Modes:

Freeplay Mode - Choose a fighter, choose your opponent, choose a stage, and have fun. You can also turn on Practice Mode to hone your skills with a character.

Online Mode - Play with other players around the world. (Yes, we have rollback.)

Classic Mode - You battle against 6 fighters that are randomly chosen based off of a pattern of the six fighting styles: Power, Defense, Speed, Intelligence, Skill, and Recovery, starting from your own character's fighting style. After the third match is a random Boss battle, and after the sixth match is a randomized Rival battle, followed by a final battle against ???????.

Arcade Mode - Same as Classic Mode, except all of the battles are predetermined based on the selected character. (Arcade Mode matches list coming eventually)

Story Mode - A story-based campaign centered around the origins of the Ultra Gems, and the mission of a mysterious robot who seeks them out... But the question is, is this robot friend or foe?

All modes, aside from Story Mode, are playable with 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 battles.

*Solarium Explosion - Pressing Normal Punch and Normal Kick at the same time makes Prominence do a command grab, which, if used successfully, grabs the opponent by the shoulders and infuses so much energy into them that they explode, knocking them down. (still can be blocked)
*Sagitta Slasher Finish - Pressing kick makes Prominence to do an electrifying somersault kick, which on hit knocks the user airborne.
*Gotcha! - Pressing Taunt at a certain time in the Punch Surprise will cancel the Punch Surprise Followup animation.
Heavy Special: Sagitta Slasher - allows Prominence to does an electrifying somersault kick, which on hit knocks the user airborne.
Low Special: Space Orb - Prominence shoots out a black ball of nothingness, sluggishly homing towards the opponent. the ball can take a certain amount of damage before it dissipates.

Power Gauge
Hyper Attack: Meteor Smackdown - Prominence does a knee thrust. If it connects, then he pummels the opponent at breakneck speed, finishing the combination with an uppercut.
Ultra Attack: Nullity Spheres - Prominence spawns six space orbs, each floating towards him. He can put them in place or send one at a time towards the opponent.
Omega Attack: Hypergiant Superwave - Prominence shoots a gigantic wave of plasma energy, doing ridiculous amounts of damage.

RageSwitch Will Launch Himself Towards The Opponent, intending to grab them. If this works he will have several options:
Energy Blade: Shoots A Beam Of Light Towards The Enemy, then he slices them in half!

The Finishing Blow: Launches A Weak Attack That Can Be Followed Up With Any Attack which requires the Power Gauge

Raises His Hand And If Anything Attacks Him He Will Counter With Tremendous Power and gain Half A Bar, however timing it well can be hard.

(2 Bar) Ultra Attack: Full-Power Energy Wave
RageSwitch Will Jump Into the Air And Charges Up A Powerful Energy Beam, it has a lot of range but you’ll definitely pay the price if you miss.

(3 Bar) Omega Attack: Raging Deathball
RageSwitch Will Power Up And Charges Up A Powerful Death ball, Dealing A Great Amount Of Damage

(5 Bar) Transforming Omega Attack: Power Of The Universal Core
In Order To Transform, You Would Need To Hit The Enemy With ‘Raging Deathball’ and an extra 2 bars. If The Conditions Are Met, RageSwitch Would Eat The Core Recovering 35% Of His Health And Raises Attack & Defense By 35% for 50 seconds.

When this failed (causing his death once again), he possesses a Jazz Droid he created to become Jazz MKIII once again, and eventually possessing the body of a Reguhalla citizen to become Finalem. However, Jazz realizes how much he takes after Proto MKII, and decides to strive to take a new path in life; His own path. This led to the creation of Jazz +, who seems to be on a quest of some sorts...

Bio: Shired is a robot made by Cossack Robot Laboratories and is a similar model to Freeze Man, but instead of icy powers, he relies on his monstrously high defensive power and avobe-average speed to outlast his opponents. His attacks might not be anything to write home about in terms of power, however. Another noteworthy thing is that he was built with TWO cores instead of one to increase processing power, but this also means he has access to TWO elemental types of attack instead of just one! His motive for entering the tournament? Showing the world why underestimating defensive types is a terrible idea, of course! He's also came up with a way to create drones out of his Gate Blocks, as another way to keep people on their toes.

Scale, in what seems to be his own private room, changes through channels on T.V. He stops when he sees himself on the news.

Oh yeah. That tournament certainly was... something. Most fun I've had in a while though, so I'll give it that.

He pours himself a glass of champagne, sipping it.

Took a while for me to get the press off my back, though. Not to mention everyone trying to by those darn Gems off my hands now.

He seems to have no interest in the Ultra Gems, but rather in testing his strength against the others of this world.

He also happens to be the owner of the GLSF More Gun, a Russia-sized spaceship with a TON of guns. Telum entered the tournament along with his fellow Singularity members so they could snag the Ultra Gems to aid in their conquest of the multiverse. Telum himself however just wants to shoot stuff.

The rust spreads up his arms.
I...I refuse to believe that this is all I am. Just a walking piles of gears with a preset destination. With these gems...I can change my fate...
The rust has overtaken his body save for his helmet.
This is my choice. My fate. Not to destroy others, but myself. You hear that fate? I won! I won! I-
With a thud, the gems fall to the ground, glowing not as bright as before.

Conditions: Must fight MKII, Missingno, and Reflection without falling under 50%HP and must have use all 6 gems against Reflection.

The people I've fought and destroyed...They were nothing more than slaves of fate.
With that said, what makes me different? ...Nothing I suppose.
There's no point in trying so...
Null then looks to each gem and crushes them into dust. The particles start to swirl along with black dust and smoke around Null. Through the shattered glass, Reflection sees a truly terrifying sight.
Why bother anyways?

Maybe...my link to my player isn't as far off as I thought? If my link is still active, then maybe I can convince him to reconsider. In that case...
Null picks up the shattered glass that made up Reflection and fuses it with a broken Intelligence Gem to form hundreds of arrowheads.
Who's to say that other links aren't broken either? Who's to say that with a little guidance that others can't see this link either? Who's to say that this is not my fate?
For the first time in what felt like forever, Null feels an genuine sense of happiness as he walks out of the portal and back into the arena.
