December 13th, 205X. The term "reploid" has become a new, recent buzzword being passed around through news sites all over the planet, the line between human and robot is *just* starting to grow a little less clear, and the newest video games console, the Nintendo Wii 2, has brought a wave of unbridled discourse that has left the online gaming community in shambles.
Standing in the third floor dining room of his mansion, a victorian-era monolith uncharacteristic of his profession, was the Dr. Marceau, a roboticist who just two months ago had his fifteen minutes of fame when he revealed his batch of Robot Masters to the world, all with a rudimentary form of free will that intimidated some more conservative members of his profession.
The table at the dining room could seat up to twenty people maybe even thirty, though not all seats were filled. Only roughly four to ten seats were filled, some with just the most interesting characters. Mostly other robots sat at the table, though perhaps a non-robot or two took a seat. Adrian was standing and seemed to refuse to sit down.
"Oh, you fools," Adrian sneered to himself. He leaned down and slipped on some sort of strange weapon onto my arm. "This isn't a dinner that I have invited all of you to, this is… An investors meeting!" Adrian stood back up once more and aimed the weapon slipped into his arm. He braced himself as it lit up…And it shot a burst of confetti!
"Okay, okay, so uh I know you all were expecting a dinner and nothing more, and I promise that there will be food here, but I have some very promising technology here and I still need some more funding to make it complete."
Adrian slipped the item off of his left hand. It had the appearance of a glove, going all the way back to elbow on Adrian's arm, and was such a pristine, white color. The glove had no fingers and a black, padded palm, and had quite a curious looking control panel on the top of it, consisting of just a few buttons, a few empty ports to insert something into and, interestingly enough, a solar panel.
"As advancements in robotics continue, the price of manufacturing will only exponentially rise. I predict that, by the 23rd century, it will be too expensive for anyone to program a Variable Weapons System into a robot! And that's where this thing comes in!"
"This is the Copy Arm, my proposal as a replacement of the Variable Weapons System! This lightweight glove has no true innate functionality, the true impressive tech is held in these cartridges!" Adrian popped out a small, plastic cartridge out of one of the ports in the Copy Arm, and started to pass it around the table. It was of a light grey color and had a sticker label on it which simply read "07 - Confetti Blast."
"I've produced about thirty or forty unique weapons for this thing so far, I think. Though the Copy Arm can only hold four of these funny little carts at a time, swapping out a weapon for another is just as easy as pressing the 'eject' button on this thing and slipping in another cart! If you're a robot with a Variable Weapons System, you'll really prefer this over the sole alternative, which is to let your creator rip you apart to manually insert or remove any weapon chips- it's a whole process! Best part about it all is that when any of your weapons run out of energy, they just need to take a while to recharge and they'll be ready to go again!" At an attempt to show off, Adrian slipped in another cart and hovered over that expensive looking peach flambé that sat in the center of the table, and a small flame came right out of his palm! Even after the dish lit up Adrian continued to emit the flame until it fizzled out. After waiting a few minutes, a distinctive click was heard, and a flame came out of the glove once more.
"Yeah, I know that this thing is already cool as hell, and you all probably want to give all of your money to fund this thing, but before you do that, make sure to check underneath your seats. For each of you, I have a Copy Arm and a cartridge for you to try out for yourself, and it's all for you to keep too!"
But before anyone could even look down to check underneath their seats, a loud crashing sound echoed through the floor. A charge shot blasted through the dining room door, and a mysterious robot jumped out of the smoke! They wrapped their arm around Adrian's neck and aimed their buster at the rest of the group.
"Good lord, not again," Adrian rolled his eyes, though he didn't seem to resist all that much. He just seemed to accept that it was all going downhill. The robot then aimed their buster to the ceiling and blasted a hole through it.
"God- I'm really getting kidnapped again. Try to find one of my robots, they should be able to deal with this situation!" Adrian yelled out as the robot jumped through the ceiling. That was officially the end of that dinner party.
Lmao uh yeah I'm starting Mystery Mansion 2 and uh, that's the premise! You were at that dinner party and you watched that freaky robot snatch Adrian and run off with him, left with nothing but one of Adrian's weird new Copy Arm devices, and a funny little ability to go along with it, and the only advice you're given by Adrian is to try to find one of the robots he built and see if they will help. It looks like you will have to do the unspeakable and look through every inch of Adrian's five-floor mansion and attempt to find him yourself
For those that did not participate in or do not remember the original thread, Mystery Mansion is a group based roleplay closely related to dnd, though with a unique gameplay system similar to that of turned based jrpgs. There is a huge emphasis on exploration and interacting with the mansion's many inhabitants, though there is a deep enough combat system for those who may be more interested in exploring that aspect. There is quite a bit to explain, but for those that were involved in the first Mystery Mansion, there isn't too much that's new so there isn't much to worry!!

First to explain is Sign-Ups! So in the first Mystery Mansion, I put a lot of restrictions onto what characters you could or could not play as but I won't be too restrictive. Of course, since the story takes place in 205X, it would not make the most sense if characters from the X series and beyond were to appear but honestly, if you can find a way to justify why Zero or your NetNavi oc would be present in the mansion then I would have no problem with them being present. I'm also fine with Classic characters being played as but for the sake of making it entertaining for me as well it would be nice if you put a unique spin on the character or inject them with your own headcanons for them. OCs are also always welcome, of course. Whether its your self insert, a Mega Man oc, or a character of yours you simply want to characterize more through this kind of roleplay. Only restriction is that I only want you to have one character in this game, and I'm pretty much firm on that (but if you have a unique idea that requires you to have multiple characters then tell me about it!)
So when you sign up, I want you to list your character and tell me a bit about them! Mystery Mansion does have quite a bit of a story element to it and a character that has little personality won't work out all that well. At the very least you can list likes, dislikes, some strong points and flaws of theirs, along with why they'd be at the mansion!

Then after that you have to tell me what Class you want them to have. Just like in the first thread there's three classes to choose from depending solely on what playstyle you want. The Wandering Class is for characters that will want to take full advantage of treasure hunting, exploration, and the like, the Sparring Class is for those that want to fully reap the rewards from combat, and aren't planning in going too deep into exploring the mansion, and can you guess what the Versatile Class is like? The starting stats for each class is as listed:

Versatile Class
HP: 30/30
Attack: 30
Charisma: 30
Thrifting: 30
Additionally, players of this class will be able to use their Copy Arm abilities 20% more than other players before they have to pause to recharge. The Copy Arm ability they start will be one that has equal functionality in and out of battle.

Wandering Class
HP: 20/20
Attack: 20
Charisma: 40
Thrifting: 40
Additionally, these players will receive 20% more Zenny in instances where zenny is gained (such as from battles, opening chests, competing errands, stuff like that), and the Copy Arm ability they start with will be one with functionality primarily out of battle.

Sparring Class
HP: 40/40
Attack: 40
Charisma: 20
Thrifting: 20
Additionally, these players will be able to sense what types the foes they are battling are weak to, and the Copy Arm ability they start with will be one that can primarily only be used in battle.

Don't know what these stats all mean? I'll explain them really quickly but I'll make sure not to ramble on too quickly. HP and Attack are self explanatory. A high Charisma stat means a player will recover more HP from food and other items that replenish HP, and a discount when shopping anywhere in the mansion. Fun fact, if a character is in a battle where they have a Charisma stat that is higher than the foe's max HP, they can talk the foe out of battle and still receive Zenny!
A high Thrifting stat means that a player will receive more zenny from battles. Players with a higher Thrifting can buy more and rarer items from shops, and will end up getting better items in general from chests. Those with a high Thrifting stat are very good with their money! These stats will naturally increase based on what the player does (getting hit increases HP, defeating foes will eventually raise Attack, collecting Zenny will raise Thrifting, etc) so the stats are extremely customizable! The class only really affects how your stats will be like at the beginning so there's no need to worry about being locked over anything when choosing a class!

And, as far as I know, that's all you need to know! Make sure to sign up your character correctly, and if you have any questions you can either ask me in this thread, pm me here, or message me on discord. I'd prefer if you message me here or on discord though, but it ultimately doesn't matter! I will wait until next week (December 21st) to start the roleplay, but if you want you can join once it starts! I just recommend joining and starting with everyone else though!

Did... did that just happen?
The stout robot hopped out of their seat and paced around the ransacked dinner table.

Oh, this is bad, this is bad, this is...
BAA-AA-AA-AAD!
Life had not been kind to Sheep Man since the Roboenza incident. Past Robot Masters that had only been reprogrammed could be reintegrated into society with relative ease, but the victims of the Roboenza outbreak were different. Dr. Wily himself admitted he was tinkering with forces he didn't fully comprehend, and that left a stigma around the infected robots.

Sheep Man was fired from his circuit board manufacturing job, and although a formal reason was never given, Sheep Man could see how distantly his formally cordial coworkers treated him. After enacting his backup plan and trying to go back to the ranch, Sheep Man was more overtly denied work, being told the head rancher "wasn't taking no mad dogs on the work force." This was the message Sheep Man received for years of seeking a new purpose, albeit without the dialect full of southern charms. For a while, the only work Sheep Man could reliably find was doing demeaning advertisements for software security firms, selling Blue Bomber themed antivirus packages. Each headline reporting the development of "reploid" technology sent shivers down Sheep Man's nonexistent spine, reminding him he would never treated as a mentally sound member of society.

Only months ago Sheep Man saw a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of the Mecha-Chuchets Institute of Robotology, who had graciously accepted Sheep Man into their ranks of other rehabilitated robots. Sure, he mostly did odds and ends repair work around their labyrinthian laboratories, but it was nice to be treated as a true Robot Master, and not a wolf hiding in sheep's clothing. Sheep Man was elated when he was asked to make a lone visit to one of the Institute’s primary investees, a Dr. Marceau… which made the current kidnapping of Dr. Marceau possibly the single worst thing that could have happened.

Why now, why me?! If the suits back at MIR hear about this, they're gonna think it was me, and I'll be back on the street, peddling shoddy virus protection!
No, NO! I can't let that happen! I have to make sure Dr. Marceau is found and returned safely, for his sake!
... and for mine.

Finally something interesting happens!
Er, I mean...
Oh no! Someone taking the doctor!

Opetunia
Sub-Name: Organical Construct
Serial Number: None
Faction: Party X
Rank: ⍟⍟⍟
Sparing Class

Under the green plant like skin of Opetunia lies an metal endoskeleton. However, despite this, Opetunia's not a machine. Rather, she's a strange magical plant bound to a suit of armor called the Chia Frame. Before this however, she was planted by the new admiral of a recently formed company called Party X. Unknowing of the flower's properties, it came as a bit of a surprise that the flower grew into a moving intelligence creature.
Perhaps due to Admiral's kindness, she views her commander as infallible. If it wasn't for her constant mischief, the Admiral would see her as the perfect way to raise the ever dwindling morals of his employees. In fact it was this mischief that resulted in her own misfortune as when a prank involving a recently planted tree that had its growth accelerated went horribly wrong as it crashed through the roof, a number of people had to take care of the damage. As this happened, Admiral received a call that his representative had been injured by the prank. Short staffed and with no time left, Opetunia reluctantly was chosen to be teleported to the meeting. Naturally, upon hearing this, she was furious, kicking and screaming the whole way. Eventually, the admiral had to speak with her directly to calm her down. With a sigh, Opetunia entered the teleporter, though not before voicing her displeasure in the form of accelerating the growth of his recently cut lawn. After wandering around a bit, she finally found the room...only to leave the meeting over ten times due to "needing a cup of water". In actuality, she tried and immensely failed at removing the Copy Arm from her as it "itches".
At least she failed in messing things up even more by kidnapping Adrain herself.
...
With a heavy sigh, the admiral lies back in his chair knowing that this wasn't the first of his troubles and certainly not the last.

gyro-man    Do you guys see this perfect business opportunity?

The helicopter robot stood up off his seat, dropping the notepad he was scribbling on during the meeting and pointing to the ceiling
gyro-man    If we go and save this guy,we will be seen as heroes! And if we're heroes, that will attract even more business!

Gyroman rubbed his hands together, looking at the copy arm, this was exactly the break he was looking for! With this new copy arm and the thought of increased business, the robot was sure that these two incidents back to back would be the key to allowing the theme park he worked at to keep up with its competitors. After all,his parks gimmick of the 5th generation of wily bots working there had become less interesting as newer robot masters came onto the scene,as such,Gyroman had to search for more interesting ways to keep the park afloat,as well as cutting down on costs, which this fancy copy arm would hit two rocks with one bird.
gyro-man    well what are we waiting for? Let's go find this doctor

gyro-man
Name:Gyroman
Class:Wandering
Likes:Money, thrills, his theme park and it's workers,
Dislikes:Jet engines, being outclassed and being obsolete, theme park law suits
Strengths:swift,cunning,plans ahead
Weaknesses:frail, gets frustrated if a plan goes slightly different
Reasons for being here:Attempting to raise more funds and creating more business and revenue for his park

Drive Man still seems to feel slightly upset due to the capturing of Adrian.

Blimey! What brutish fellow would do such a thing? Non-consensual kidnapping? Unacceptable.

Crap, about 3 days left, better make me a character real qui-
Actually, you know what? No.
I'm actually going to GET OFF MY *REGGAE'D* for this one! I know, really foreign concept.
Or rather, a COPY of me is. Yeah, I have multiple bodies. Pretty sick, right?

Right, then. Time to introduce myself. I was gonna my appearance for the big reveal in Chaos Zone, but I don't think there's much reason for that now.

Yep, that's me. Y̶o̶u̶'̶r̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶b̶a̶b̶l̶y̶ ̶w̶o̶n̶d̶e̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶h̶o̶w̶ ̶I̶ ̶g̶o̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶s̶i̶t̶u̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶.̶
Name: Rhys
Class: Versatile
Reason for being there: Eh, I had nothing better to do.

(OOC: That last part's an obvious lie, but shoosh, don't tell.)

For those of you beyond the 4th wall, I'm going to do what I did in the original Mystery Mansion and let my MPSA-Style Narration Machine do most of the narrating from now on, in true MS Paint Adventure fashion. This means the narration's gonna refer to me in second person, and my actions are going to be displayed in the form of MSPA-style commands. This may get confusing, but that's just how it be. Also, whenever I type in dialogue boxes like this, I'm gonna have an INDIGO text color. NOT MAROON. I don't need like 82 more comparisons to Phantasm here.
Though, at the same time, I most likely won't be able to access most of my Reaper powers here, since this isn't Chaos Zone. But that's the end of my rant, now back to the matter at hand; reading through the previous posts to making sure we know just what the hell is going on with these guys.

Well, that's quite the pickle.
The robot curiously eyes the genius gadget that Adrian recently gave him.
But, if the guys who were around the first time this happened managed to save Dr.Marceau, I have no doubt that we will, too!

MIDI
Mechanical Mechanic
Wandering Class
Reason for being here: stand-in for his boss who got a flat tire on the way

MIDI's creator runs a moderately successful robot repair shop in Mega City, and his college pet project serves as his assistant. MIDI's outward appearance is pretty unremarkable, and you could easily mistake him for a simple Mecha. He has a highly modular low-cost build... which is just nerd talk for "he's built from cheap parts held together by duct tape and a hail Mary". Luckily for him, this means that he can integrate almost anything into his cirtuitry with relative ease. Unfortunately, all the upgrades and gizmos he'd devised so far were taken away two days ago when he almost fried a client's IC chip, so he'll be relying only on the Copy Arm for the time being. Speaking of which, he already seems to be trying to take the circuitry out of the glove and graft it onto his own arm.
