I played an English-text version of Rockman & Forte for the SNES which made playing it a lot easier due to no screencrunch that existed on the GBA release. It was an interesting playthrough with the map mechanics and the Superbolts. King was no joke as a boss. Mega Man 5 was very blah as a game to me. All the previous games introduced some new mechanic that altered gameplay....Mega Man 5 gave us Beat. Even Mega Man 6 gave us the new adapters which lead to the Super Adapter in Mega Man 7. MM5 was just....there.
Mega Man 5: It's bleh. No good weapons, and it felt worn-out. Mega Man 6 managed to reinvent the franchise, so that's good. I still hate the dual castles. Mega Man 5 just needed a new mechanic.
Mega Man and Bass is pretty good. I only like playing as Bass, because the game isn't meant for Mega Man. I like playing it on the DS though, because the screen crunch issue isn't fixed. Oh, get one of those things that connect the Game Boy Advance and Gamecube. I'm sure screen-crunching is fixed there.
